Pre-K
Dear Parents,
We are so sad to say goodbye to Yodit, we wish her all the best in her next adventures! You will be truly missed Yodit!
I am so happy to be back to teach pre k class again! As a teacher, It brings me extreme joy to spend time with kids not only teaching but also learning a lot from them. I hope to have fun filled time with your children as we continue to question, discover, create, explore and investigate the world around us!
Our week in short
Our first week together was exciting as we made some small changes in our classroom. We took a couple of minutes from our large group time to talk about ways to make our large group and also library class more fun and easy to use. While planning we shared our ideas to make our class more enjoyable.
Here are some of the ideas we brought to the table
Fiona “We should add more stickers and Sparkly stuff and drawings.”
Noah W. “We need curtain and maybe 100 stickers”
Julietta “We need stickers that looks like the Sun”
So we moved our message board around and added a couple of drawings, new shelves and more pillows for our large grop room. When we come back from our break, we also agreed to take a group picture and hang it by our class door, which later turned into drawing our beautiful faces instead.
Our Kindergarten friends invited us to join them this week in creating a book center . They explained to us that they wrote their own books and asked us if we were interested in writing our own. We were happy to join in this adventure! We came up with a plan about the things we needed as authors. The next day we went straight to work and started writing our books!
As a teacher it was such an honor to witness the birth of these amazing authors. Little Einsteins have signed these authors under its label and will be publishing their book! Our bookstore is currently under work as the authors wanted to make their grand opening party one of a kind!
We had a great time working together in our small group exploration time.
In our math exploration we explored about shapes and their edges. We explored with squares, circles, rectangles, diamonds, oval, pentagon, hexagon and star. We also talked about the difference between sides or edges and curves in shapes.
On Friday we had fun playing a cooperative game where we passed a balloon filled with water. We enjoyed balancing the ball as we passed it to our friends.
For science we kept on exploring with our environment, we also discovered that it is with our five senses that we see our world and so for our next science class we will be discovering our five senses!!
