Preschool and Early Pre-K

Greetings

It’s been two weeks since our break, and the fun is still going on. We hope you all had a fun week like us! We began our morning by asking the kids how their weekend was, and as it turned out, we ended up talking about our dreams. Here are some of our thoughts!

Alexander: “when I open my eyes, I was in a different house! Then I went to the ocean and the fish bit my face!!”

Melo: “when I was asleep, the house was flying then the gate fly and the garden fly, and then I woke up then I looked outside, and I saw fly and everything fly!!”

Adam: “the kitchen fly here. 1,2,3,4,5 kitchen and the kitchen eat my short and my jacket!!”

Our board messages were all about rhyming words; we wanted to use it as an introduction to our literacy class. It was a good exposure for the group.

Silly Time During Snack Time!!

During small group

Storytelling Monday: we decided to work on our journal outside this week. Kids were surrounded with beautiful morning weather and a good view from Mother Nature! Some of them chose to draw the rabbits! It was very refreshing for everyone. They all got a chance to share their stories.

Next week we drag our literacy from Thursday to Monday. We are planning to continue rhyming and do some puzzles.

Finding the number Tuesday: for our math session, we explored with numbers on a card and on the mat! We focused on identifying and counting. Kids first matched the number cards with the numbers on the mat then they had to jump as many times as the numbers on the mat.

Next Tuesday we will be doing “ Number Stories.” The group will be telling stories using the "number bears."

The cooperative game Wednesday: even though Wednesday was our

science class, we changed it to a cooperative game, because we had guests coming over! Who are the guests you may ask? Well, it was kindergarteners!! It was so much fun for the kids as they were trying to balance the balloons. We played with water balloons, lined into two groups, and we mixed with the kindergarteners, then they had to pass the water balloons to the next person and the next one to the next one and on and on until they reach the bucket to dump it. The balloons were very tricky to hold, but they managed to drop it in the bucket, even though the other group popped most of the balloons!! Children finally counted the balloons in the buckets, and decided who the winner was!

Next Wednesday our regular science schedule will continue, and we will be doing a science experiment with milk. We will do “Magic Milk.”

Rhyming Thursday: our kids have had the chance to explore with Zoo-phonics and Alliteration starting from the second term. Since they are mastering those skills, it is a good time to start Rhyming. This week was just an introduction for them, but they were very active and caught it quickly.

Next Thursday we will be continuing rhyming words.

Our specials

Art: as planned last week, we made the rabbit experiment with primary colors. Kids mixed the colors with paper plates. We took the “rabbit color book” with us to help them with an instruction. They all got the colors right. They finally decided to put what they have worked on together.

Music and Gymnastics: our gymnastics class was so fun as they went outside to do the activities.

Reminder

Dear parents, we would like to invite you to our classes after the spring break. All you have to do is inform us ( via text, phone call or email) on which day you want to come and join us. It would be fun and useful for you to engage with your child in our environment and understand what we do in person. We will be glad to have you here!

We also would like to let you know that our after-school program for gymnastics with Mr. Yonas is still available if you want to sign up for your kid.

Wednesday is our Art day, please make sure your child wear their ‘Art clothes’ because we use paints and our activities get messy!

Friday is our Library day!! Don’t forget to send library folders so your child can choose a new book.

Please send your child with sunscreen and hat.

Have a wonderful weekend!!
