Our Kindergarten Class This Week

Dear parents,

Hello, we had fun and exciting week. The children were learning fun ways to know about more shapes, zoo phonics and inner body parts and their function.

Large group

For our large group as we have been doing, we did our good morning song, we read books called ‘The Cat in the Hat’ and ‘I Have Good Manners’. Our sessions go beyond simply reading the books. The children’s had a good imagination and creativity. After doing this we started doing our circle time calendar and we worked on our caterpillar.

Small group

Literacy

For our literacy class we did the zoo phonics which continued from last week but this week it was more exciting and engaging for everyone.

Science

For our science we did inner body parts and their functions and also, we used puzzle pieces to recreate the inner body parts, making the activity more hands-on and interactive. The puzzles not only helped us visualize the different organs but also improved the motor skills and hand-eye coordination. We also had fun competing to see who could finish faster.

Math

For our math we did shapes like, Heptagon, Octagon, Nonagon and Decagon and also we saw their properties, including their sides, and even had a hands-on activity where we drew and compared them and cut them in their shapes.

Journal

For our journal we decorated our journal book and we had fun doing that activity. All the children’s were engaged and focused.

“Me am making a police car and dinosaur.”

Art

For our art session we use a range of materials to create different collages. We experiment with rice, cotton, color papers, and puzzles. They were so creative and were so excited to be doing the activity.

Our caterpillar marked the 20th day of school.

Reminder:-

In celebration of Ethiopian New year, on Monday your child can come wearing yellow or white clothes.

Every Wednesday is our library day, so we will be sending a book that your child picked from our library, which will be returned after a week on library day.

Every Thursday is our art day so please send your child with art appropriate clothing.
