Dear Parents,

We hope you had a wonderful week. In our Early Pre-K classroom, the children enjoyed another vibrant and engaging week filled with exploration, creativity, and hands-on experiences. Each activity was thoughtfully planned to support early mathematical skills, strengthen cognitive development, encourage positive social interactions, and inspire their natural sense of curiosity. We are happy to share some of the memorable moments from this exciting week with you.

Happy Birthday Falah!

Large group

This week, our large group sessions were filled with joy and discovery. During the sessions, we focused on Zoo Phonics, where the children enthusiastically explored letter sounds through movement and actions. They loved connecting each letter with its animal friend, which made learning both memorable and exciting. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they practiced sounds together and supported one another.

In addition, we introduced simple 2D and 3D shapes. The children explored shapes such as circles, squares, triangles, cubes, and spheres through hands-on activities and group discussions. They enjoyed identifying shapes in their surroundings and describing what they observed. This session not only strengthened their early literacy and math skills but also encouraged teamwork, listening, and active participation.

Math

This week in our math session, the children had a wonderful time exploring numbers 11–20 in a fun and meaningful way. We began by encouraging them to look around the classroom and count different objects they could find: such as blocks, books, and classroom materials. This hands-on activity helped them connect numbers to real-life quantities, making their learning more concrete and engaging.

After counting, the children practiced writing the numbers 11–20 on the board. They were excited to take turns, proudly demonstrating their understanding while building confidence in number formation. This activity supported not only their mathematical skills but also their fine motor development and focus. We are very proud of their enthusiasm and progress as they continue to grow in their early math journey!

Science

This week in science, our students had a wonderful time exploring the concept of seasons in a fun and hands-on way. We introduced a variety of clothing items found in the classroom, and the children were excited to observe, touch, and discuss each one. Together, we talked about different types of weather and how it influences what we wear. The children then worked collaboratively to sort the clothes into groups based on the seasons they are most suitable for: sunny, rainy, or cold days.

This activity not only strengthened their understanding of seasonal changes but also encouraged critical thinking and teamwork. It was lovely to see the children confidently sharing their ideas, making connections, and explaining their choices. Through this interactive experience, they are developing awareness of the world around them while building important language and classification skills.

Literacy

This week in our literacy session, the children continued building their understanding of beginning sounds by exploring familiar objects around them. Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, they practiced identifying the first sound in different words, helping them strengthen their phonemic awareness. The children showed great enthusiasm as they connected sounds to real-life items, boosting both their confidence and curiosity about language.

To extend their learning, we introduced vowel letters using colorful flashcards. The children were excited to discover the unique sounds that vowels make and how they appear in many of the words they already know. Through repetition, games, and group participation, they began recognizing vowels and distinguishing them from consonants. It was a joyful and productive session, and we are proud of their growing literacy skills!

Art

This week’s art session was filled with rainbows and clouds! Our students explored their creativity by creating their very own renditions of some of their favorite features of nature. This activity was designed to encourage self-expression while helping children develop their fine motor skills and color recognition. With bright paints and big smiles, each child brought their own unique vision of the sky to life.

As they worked, the children learned how to blend colors to create vibrant rainbows and used soft brush strokes to form gentle, floating clouds. Beyond the artwork itself, the session also supported patience, focus, and confidence as they proudly completed their canvases. Everyone enjoyed this session wholeheartedly, and we are so proud of their creativity and effort!
