Dear parents,
We hope you had a wonderful week. Our Early Pre-K students enjoyed another exciting week filled with hands-on learning experiences, meaningful discussions, creativity, and active exploration. Throughout the week, the children participated in engaging activities that supported their early literacy and math skills, encouraged communication and teamwork, and strengthened their understanding of caring for the world around them. We are happy to share some special moments from our classroom this week!
Large Group
During large group time, the children participated in many engaging discussions and daily review activities that helped strengthen their confidence, communication, and listening skills. The class talked about the weather, revised Zoo Phonics sounds and actions, practiced counting numbers together, and reviewed the days of the week and months of the year. The children also enjoyed story time sessions where they listened attentively and shared their thoughts about the stories with excitement and curiosity.
One of the children’s favorite moments during large group time was sharing stories about their weekends with their classmates. They eagerly spoke about family activities, places they visited, and fun experiences they had at home. These conversations encouraged the children to express themselves confidently while also practicing respectful listening and turn-taking skills during group discussions.
Math
This week in our math session, the children explored numbers through creative and hands-on activities using a variety of exciting materials. The students practiced building numbers physically by using cotton, painted macaroni, painted beans, and pipe cleaners to form different numbers on paper. The children carefully selected the materials they wanted to use and enjoyed designing and creating their numbers in unique ways.
The children also participated in activities focused on identifying and circling the smaller number. Through guided practice and classroom discussions, the students compared numbers and learned how to recognize which number was greater or smaller. It was wonderful to see the children becoming more confident as they explored early math concepts through hands-on learning experiences.
Science
This week in science, the children focused on learning about caring for our environment by revisiting everything they have explored about plants, animals, and the world around them. Together, we discussed different ways we can care for our environment both at home and at school, including watering plants, feeding animals, cleaning up litter, and properly using the trash bin. The children shared thoughtful ideas about how they can help protect and care for nature in their daily lives.
After our classroom discussion, the children participated in exciting outdoor activities around the school compound. Some children watered the plants, others helped feed the bunnies, and some worked together to pick up litter and place it in the trash bins. The children were very enthusiastic and proud to help care for their environment, and it was wonderful to see them actively participating and working together throughout the experience!
Art
This week during art, the children enjoyed a relaxing and creative free drawing session where they had the opportunity to express their imagination freely through art. The children confidently chose what they wanted to draw and used a variety of colors and ideas to create unique artwork. It was lovely to see their creativity, independence, and self-expression shine throughout the session.
Library
During our library session, the children explored a variety of books and carefully observed the pictures to create their own stories and ideas. They enjoyed choosing books independently, discussing what they saw in the illustrations, and using their imagination to describe characters and events. This experience helped strengthen focus, creativity, early storytelling, and a growing love for books and reading.
