Dear Parents,

We are happy to share the wonderful learning experiences our children enjoyed this week! Please take a moment to read our weekly blog and see all the fun, learning, and discoveries we shared together.

Large Group

During our Large Group session, we gathered in a big circle and started our morning by singing the Good Morning Song. We then talked about our morning experiences, sharing what we had for breakfast and what we did before coming to school. We also read the book “Preschool, Here I Come!” The children listened attentively and stayed focused throughout the story. After sharing, we discussed the weather and the days of the week, asking questions such as, “How many days are there in a week?” and “What day is today?” We then completed our attendance by having the children place their pictures on the happy or sad face. Finally, we discussed our Message Board, which focused on learning and understanding our preschool classroom rules. The children participated very well and confidently shared the classroom rules one by one. Large Group is an important part of our day because it helps us build strong connections with the children, develop their speaking and listening skills, and encourage confidence. It was a wonderful and successful start to our day!

Small Group

Math

In our Math session, we explored colors, sorting, matching, and counting through a fun hands-on activity. We began by discussing different colors and asking the students about their favorite colors. We then provided colorful bears, pom-poms, cups, plates, and tweezers. The students chose their favorite colors, used the tweezers to pick up the materials, and matched them with the correct cups and plates. They were focused, engaged, and excited throughout the activity. Afterward, the students chose their favorite toys and classroom materials and counted how many they had. They enjoyed counting independently and sharing their results with their friends. It was a wonderful math session filled with learning, exploration, and fun!

Gymnastics

In our gymnastics session, we started with a warm-up by walking, jogging, running, and stretching our bodies. Then, the students practiced their balance by walking one by one across the balancing bridge with their arms stretched out. Next, they practiced jumping inside the hula hoops, developing their coordination and confidence. Some students needed a little practice at first, but they did a great job! We ended the session with fun action songs that kept everyone active and engaged. It was a wonderful and enjoyable gymnastics session!

Music

During our music session, we explored different types of musical instruments. We provided a variety of instruments in the studio, including guitars, a piano, shakers, xylophones, and other percussion instruments. Each student had the opportunity to choose their favorite instrument and explore how it sounds. The students enjoyed playing their instruments and also practiced sharing and taking turns with their friends. We sang some of their favorite songs, including “Baa Baa Black Sheep,” “The Wheels on the Bus,” "Baby shark",  and “Let’s Dance.” The children played along with the music, danced, sang, and expressed themselves freely. It was a joyful and engaging music session. All the students participated enthusiastically, enjoyed exploring the instruments, and had a wonderful time making music together!

Science

During our science session, we continued learning about our bodies by focusing on handwashing and personal hygiene. We discussed why keeping our hands clean is important and how washing our hands helps protect us from germs. We also talked about how we can take care of ourselves and complete personal tasks independently. We read a book about the steps of washing our hands, including turning on the water, applying soap, scrubbing our hands, rinsing them well, and drying them. After reading the book, the students had the opportunity to practice handwashing by themselves. They did a wonderful job following each step and keeping their hands clean. It was a fun and meaningful learning experience, and all the students participated enthusiastically!

Library

In our Library Session, we visited the library and discussed some important library rules. We talked about using quiet voices because our friends may be reading, and we learned how to treat books with care. The children learned not to hit, rip, or stand on books, but instead to turn the pages gently and handle them carefully. After discussing the rules, the students chose their favorite books and enjoyed exploring the pictures and turning the pages. Each child also brought a folder and selected one book to take home. It was a calm, enjoyable, and meaningful library session. The children participated well and showed great care and interest in the books.

Art

During our art session, we visited the art studio and explored different types of paints. We asked the students about their favorite colors and gave them the opportunity to choose the paints they liked most. The students then used their favorite paints to create drawings of things that are special to them. Some children drew their moms, dads, cars, dogs, houses, and favorite toys. They enjoyed expressing their ideas and creativity through their artwork. It was a wonderful and meaningful experience. All the students were engaged, creative, and happy while creating their beautiful artwork!

Literacy

In our literacy session, we started by reviewing all the phonics letters one by one. After that, each student had the opportunity to choose their favorite phonics letter. We then provided Play-Dough in different colors and invited the students to trace their chosen letters using the Play-Dough. The students were excited and fully engaged in the activity. They carefully followed the lines and did a wonderful job forming their letters. Everyone had a chance to participate, communicate, and share their ideas with their friends and teachers. It was a fun, interactive, and meaningful learning experience. We were very happy to see the students’ enthusiasm, creativity, and confidence throughout the activity. All the students did an amazing job! We finished our session by singing the Zoophonics Letters Song, making the end of our literacy session fun and joyful.
