Enjoying and Experimenting in Our Infant and Toddlers Class!
Hello, dear parents!
Welcome to another exciting two weeks in our Infants and Toddlers class! We are happy to share a recap of how we have been learning, exploring, and growing together with your little ones.
Large Group
Over the past two weeks, we started our large group by singing the Good Morning Song to welcome everyone. We then talked about family and learned family signs, including mom, dad, sister, grandma, and grandpa. The children practiced the signs together and enjoyed singing the Finger Family song and the Baby Shark song. After singing, we read a bedtime story together. The children enjoyed listening to the story and looking at the pictures. At the end of our large group, our panda friend gave each child a big hug, making everyone feel happy, loved, and special.
Gymnastics
We started our most recent gymnastics activity by showing the children how to climb the stairs safely. We demonstrated how to step up carefully, one step at a time. Then, the children took turns climbing the stairs one at a time, with teachers nearby to support and encourage them when needed.
The children were excited to explore the climbing stairs and practiced stepping up and down at their own pace. Through this activity, they developed their gross motor skills, balance, coordination, and confidence. They also practiced patience and turn taking while waiting for their friends to finish. We encouraged each child to try independently while providing support whenever needed. It was a fun opportunity for the children to explore movement, challenge themselves, and celebrate their achievements!
Literacy
Last week, we explored opening and closing empty water bottles. This week, we brought back the water bottles and added blocks and magnets to extend the children's learning. The children remembered the previous activity and confidently practiced opening and closing the bottles. They also explored the blocks and magnets with interest and excitement.
Art
We started our art activity by collecting different leaves for the children to explore. Then, we prepared paints in different colors and invited the children to choose their favorite colors. After choosing their colors, the children began painting the leaves, exploring the colors and creating their own leaves artwork. The children enjoyed dipping their brushes into the paint and spreading the colors onto the leaves.
Science
We prepared a sensory activity for the children to explore different textures. First, the children used their hands to touch, feel, and explore the materials. They enjoyed filling, moving, and playing with the materials while discovering how they felt. At the end of the activity, we invited the children to explore the textures with their feet. They stepped on the materials and experienced different sensations through their feet. The children were curious and excited to explore in different ways.
Math
During our math activity, we explored color sorting using colorful pom-poms and cups in different colors. First, we introduced the materials and encouraged the children to explore them. Then, the children picked up the pom-poms one at a time and sorted them into the matching colored cups. The children enjoyed choosing the pom-poms, identifying different colors, and placing them into the correct cups. We encouraged them to look carefully and match each pom-pom with the corresponding color.
Family Day Project: Sharing Our Favorite Toys
For our Family Day project, we invited parents to bring their children’s favorite toys from home. The children were excited to see their toys and began exploring and playing with them. They shared their toys with friends, explored different ways to play, and enjoyed spending time together. This activity encouraged sharing, social interaction, and a sense of connection between home and school
