Happy Preschool Moments!

Dear parents,

We warmly invite you to read our Preschool Highlights Blog and explore the wonderful learning experiences your children enjoyed this week. From creative art and science activities to exciting math and literacy sessions, our students had fun learning, sharing ideas, building confidence, and working together. We are so proud of their creativity, participation, and joyful learning moments!

Large group

We started our large group session by making a big circle and warmly greeting each other. The children shared what they had for breakfast and talked about their morning routines. After everyone had a chance to speak, we sang our cheerful good morning song together. Next, we reviewed the Zoo phonics letters with their names, sounds, and actions. We also discussed the days of the week, the weather, and completed our attendance for the message board. Later, we asked the students what they would like to create for their 6th canvas project. The children shared their ideas and finally decided to make colorful flowers together. It was a wonderful session that encouraged the students to speak confidently, listen to their friends’ ideas and thoughts, wait for their turns, and build communication and social skills.

Small group sessions

Math

In our math session, the children explored AB patterns using colorful pom-poms and different counting animals. We began by discussing what a pattern means: something that repeats again and again. The teacher showed simple examples first, helping the children understand how patterns work. After the demonstration, the students created their own AB patterns independently using the materials provided. Some children needed a little extra support, so we sat together and completed the activity step by step with them. It was a fun, engaging, and educational experience, and the children enjoyed learning through hands-on play and exploration.

Science

In our science session, we completed our 5th canvas project, a beautiful 3D water animals artwork! The students chose their favorite colors and carefully painted the animals. Since the paper glue mixture was dry and strong, the children were excited to see the animals become more realistic and creative. We used a light blue background to represent water, added rocks at the bottom, and placed seaweed to create an underwater environment for the fish. All students participated actively and happily, taking turns and enjoying every step of the activity. The children were very proud of their final work. Some students said, “I will take this to my home,” while others excitedly shared, “I want to show this to my mommy and daddy!” It was a joyful and memorable learning experience for everyone.

Literacy

In our literacy session, the children enjoyed a fun and engaging letter cookie activity. We began by reviewing all the Zoo phonics letters, including their names, sounds, and actions. The students were excited to practice and remember each letter together. After that, the children washed their hands, wore their chef clothes, and started making the cookie dough. They took turns mixing the ingredients one by one and enjoyed being little chefs. Once the dough was ready, we provided each child with the beginning sound of their name and their favorite letters. The students tried their best to shape and create the letters by themselves. When the cookies were finished, the teacher showed the children how the cookies were placed in the oven. After a few minutes, the delicious letter cookies were ready! The students were very happy and enjoyed eating their creations.

Art

In this week's art session, we worked on a canvas inspired by one of our students' favorite things: flowers! The whole class had so much fun creating this flower art together. First, we tied the rubber, flipped it, and inflated it by blowing it to make a ball shape. Then, the students chose their favorite paint colors and used brushes to paint and stamp on the canvas, creating a beautiful flower. Everyone had a chance to participate turn by turn, and the children enjoyed the activity very much. It was a fun and creative time for all the students!
