Dear parents,

We have had a wonderful past two weeks in our Infants and Toddlers classroom. During this time, we revisited some of our previous activities and enjoyed making them again together. The children were very happy and excited as they explored, played, and learned throughout the weeks. Read on for some more details…

Large Group

During large group time, we begin our morning by singing our Good Morning song. We call each child by name, and together we say “good morning!” This helps the children feel welcomed and ready for the day. After that, we take attendance, and each child sticks their picture on the board.

We also sing “I’ve Got a Friend”, which the children enjoy very much. They get excited as they wait for their turn, and when they hear their name, they stand up and dance in the middle of the circle. They are always so happy and proud during this moment. We practice counting from 1 up to 15, and the children join in with enthusiasm. After counting, we continue with movement and music. Before dancing, the children clean up their pillows and place them in the corner. Then we enjoy dancing to three songs together, which brings lots of smiles and energy to our morning.

Library

During our library session, we set up a cozy reading area outside with a mat, pillows, books, and dolls. We began by showing the children how to “read” to their dolls, modeling gentle and caring interactions. The children were very excited to choose their favorite doll and book. They sat comfortably on the mat, looking through the pages, pretending to read, and enjoying quiet play. The children were happy, focused, and engaged as they explored their books independently. After they finished, they practiced sharing by exchanging books with their friends, showing wonderful cooperation and kindness.

Gymnastics

During our gymnastics class, we enjoyed a fun bowling activity with the children. First, we explained how to roll the ball toward the pins. The children listened carefully and quickly learned how to roll the ball correctly. They were very excited and took turns bowling one at a time, cheering for each other as they played. After finishing their turns, the children helped clean up the bowling pins and balls by themselves, showing great responsibility and teamwork.

Language and Literacy

For our language and literacy activity, we worked with on a puzzle together. We placed different puzzle pieces in the middle, including animals, trucks, cars, and letters. Each child had the chance to choose their favorite puzzle before they began putting it together. The children were very excited, especially when they picked up an animal puzzle. As they placed the animals in the correct spots, they happily made the matching animal sounds. When working with the truck and car puzzles, they focused well and fixed the pieces correctly. After they finished, the children practiced sharing by switching puzzles with their friends, showing cooperation and kindness throughout the activity.

Art

During our art session, we enjoyed a free painting activity with the children. We provided different colors of paper and paint, and the children chose their favorite paper and paint colors on their own. They happily explored the materials, expressing themselves freely through painting. The children were very engaged and joyful as they created their own artwork.

Science

During our science class, we explored how to make play-dough together. First, we placed flour on the plate and let the children touch and explore it. Then we added water, and the children began mixing with excitement. After that, we added oil, and they continued mixing until the dough started to form. Once the play-dough was ready, the children used their hands to shape and create different things. They were very proud of their work.

Nahili said, “I made a sheep.”

Nuwar said, “I made a cow.”

Victor said, “I made a truck.”

The children enjoyed the activity very much and were fully engaged in exploring the materials and creating their own play-dough models.

Math

For our math activity, we prepared different colored balls and matching colored baskets. We placed them in front of the children and explained how to sort each ball into the basket with the same color. The children took turns one at a time, waiting patiently for their turn. They enjoyed the activity very much and sorted the balls correctly. After they finished, many of them asked to do it again because they were so excited and engaged.
