This was the last week of our Christmas themed and New Year activities, all the kids enjoyed doing the activity. We hope you enjoy reading what the kids did.
For this week, we started our large group by having a conversation with the kids about the new year and how they celebrated it and if there was anything new that the kids wanted to share. After we did our circle time and sang different songs that the children chose, we moved to our small group to do various Christmas activities that our kids love to do.
We did another Christmas craft with our kids that was about Santa! Our kids cut Santa’s hat and glued cotton balls for his beard. They had fun drawing his eyes and sticking the cut-out nose. They were happy and wanted to draw a smile on Santa’s face. We enjoyed watching our children’s creativity shine.
Snowman name craft
For this activity we had a snowman's head and snowballs for writing the letter of the children’s names. The snowman’s head and the snowballs were cut out in circles and the kids designed and cut their own hats for the snowman. They also drew eyes and mouths by themselves. Later they practiced sounding out the letters of their names and wrote them on the snowballs. The cutting and writing help children to develop their fine motor skills while also engaging in a fun activity.
One of our activities this week was Christmas socks. We drew socks on red paper using markers and gave them to our kids. Our children cut out the sock image following the drawn line of the sock and then decorated it using yarn, pieces of paper and glitter. Our children loved it after they finished making it.
Our activities for next week will be:
Monday – Cooperative game
Tuesday – Literacy (Zoo phonics)
Friday - Science
Thursday - Library
As it gets sunny, please send the children with a hat and sunscreen.
Every Thursday is our Library Day; please make sure to return the library folder.
Every Friday, we have Art so please send your children with art appropriate clothing.
Have a wonderful weekend!
