Greeting

Hello dear parents, we are delighted to share highlights from the last two weeks and all the wonderful things that happened in our classroom!

Large group time

During our large group time, each child starts by sitting on their pillow. We begin with singing “Baa Baa Black Sheep” to help everyone feel calm and ready. Then we sing the “Good Morning” song, where the children wave their hands and greet each friend by name. After that, we take attendance. The children take their own picture and place it on the happy face. Together, we count how many friends are here and how many are not here, and we practice counting the numbers. We finish our large group time by reading a color book and enjoying the story together.

Gymnastics

To begin our most recent gymnastics class, we prepared the space by placing papers on the floor for the children to walk and jump on. First, we gather all the children together and show them how to walk across the papers and how to jump with both feet. They watched carefully and waited patiently for their turn. During the activity, the children took turns one at a time. Some of them walked across the papers, while others jumped with both feet. Many of them enjoyed repeating the activity again and again. They were very excited, engaged, and confident as they explored these movements!

Literacy and Language

During our latest language and literacy session, we prepared pom-poms, spoons, and plates for our students. We began by introducing the materials and showing them how to use the spoon to pick up a pom-pom and place it into the cup. The children sat carefully and listened attentively to the instructions.

Once they started, they were very focused on the activity. They picked up the pom-poms with the spoon and placed them into the cup, doing it successfully and with excitement. After finishing, they returned the pom-poms to the plate and repeated the activity again. Many of them also helped their friends after completing their turn, showing great teamwork and cooperation!

Art

In our art session, we worked on a paper collage activity. We gave the children glue sticks and invited them to put glue on their paper. Then they selected different small pieces of colored paper and stuck them onto the glued area. The children were very excited and engaged throughout the activity. They talked about the colors they were using, proudly naming them; “this is red,” “this is yellow,” and many more. It was a joyful and creative process for all.

Science

During our science class, we put a mat outside and gathered the children together. We observed our plants and talked about the changes we could see and what might happen by the next class. The children enjoyed singing our plant song and taking turns watering the plants. Together, we noticed the progress and growth, which everyone was excited about!

Math

During our math class, we explored a filling and dumping activity using rice. We prepared colored rice in a large bag and placed many different cups for the children to use. The children enjoyed scooping the rice and filling the cups, then dumping it out again. They were very excited and engaged, and many of them helped their friends during the activity. It was a fun way for them to practice counting, measuring, and working together!
