What a wonderful Meskel (Demera) celebration we had! The students have been planning for this day, and we are so happy that it turned out to be the way they wanted! We would like to say thank you to all who came to celebrate Meskel with us!
Activities for science this week;
We had a fun way of learning about our sense of touch. We discussed about the sense organs that we have, sang songs about sense organs too.
After our discussions we explored with different sensory plates, The plates were filled with things that are soft to touch, hard to hold and rough ones. some of the students were not willing to touch the rough ones but they love to touch the soft ones. We experienced lots of things with different textures. All children where excited!
Activities for Art this week;
We had an exciting art session. We use water bottles with different shapes, woods, lids, spatula, and aluminum foil to make shapes on a paper. We put the materials in a paint and make stamp on the paper it was such a fun way of making shapes with all these materials!!
Activities for Math this week;
Counting is such a perfect way of learning math. We are learning counting in different ways like, by counting bears, woods, fingers that we have even by counting people around us!! We practice matching the numbers with the correct number of objects.
Activities for the Library this week ;
In the library we had books with rules like; no cutting books ,no stepping on the books even not to disturb our friends. So looking at picture books and retelling the story to friends wad such a cool thing to do!
After we read books by our own we choose a book to read with a group . We have questions to ask and to be asked so we had been discussing about the book which was so interesting!!

The weather is changing so don’t forget to put a hat and sunscreen in their bag.
On our Art days try to send the children with art friendly clothing.
Don’t forget to return library folders on your child’s library days.
A book chosen by the kids is sent to home so that parents are supposed to read with their kids
