Early Pre-k On The Last Week Of March

Dear parents,

This week the kids were so excited mostly for the good time they spent on the family day! They keep on sharing and recalling the memories they made that day.

Large group: During our large group session this week, we introduced a new 3D shape, known as the 'Cylinder', the number fourteenth shape. We also learned about the sound 'h'. As for our morning activities, we did new exercises such as putting numbers 1-10 in order on the board, matching the beginning sound of 'at' rhyming words, and went outside to find cylinders in the playground.

Math: Continuing with our graphing topic, this week we sorted out different shapes on the board then we counted each shape and wrote how many below it.

Cooperative game: We began the game by dividing the class into two teams and seating them side by side in a row. Each team had some small balls on one side that they had to pass to their teammate next to them to move them to the other side. The children enjoyed the game very much and kept requesting to play it repeatedly.

“We finished” Julia

Makerspace: In our makerspace session we went through the sketches we drew before and then had to make a quick vote so we could choose what to make and the mini mouse won. So, we discussed what the Mini mouse looked like and the body parts it had, and then we helped each other to choose the materials we needed and started butting them together. We will finish this project in the coming sessions.

Science: This week, we played a sorting game with fruits, vegetables, and dairy products. We emphasized the importance of consuming these foods as they contribute to our overall health.

Library: Our book this week was about ‘Jack’ who went to the gym with his friend and started to do different moves. The kids were able to relate to almost all the things that Jack did and found in the gym.

“I do the handstand I am not scared” Leul

Art: Our art session was associated with the science theme 'Food'. The kids made an ice-cream by using white papers and different colors of paint for the ice-cream cone and scoops.
