Our Amazing Two Weeks In Toddlers Class

Our large group

Our large group session was fantastic! We started with a "Good Morning" song. After that, we introduced the week’s color, yellow, and let the kids explore yellow pictures on a stick paper displayed on our whiteboard. We took attendance next and wrapped up the session by reading "Say Please, Little Bear." The children were engaged and excited throughout!

Gymnastics

In our gymnastics session, we focused on improving gross motor skills through jumping in hula hoops and counting. This activity helps the kids develop their bodies while having fun. We arranged the hula hoops in a line and began by counting them together. Then, the children took turns jumping into the hoops, which encouraged both coordination and teamwork. Overall, it was a great way to promote physical development in an engaging way.

Math Activity: Hunting Yellow Color materials

In our latest math session, we focused on colors, specifically yellow. We went outside to hunt for yellow materials and collected them in a basket. Previously, we had worked with red items, so we mixed them with the yellow materials. This allowed us to observe the kids' understanding of color recognition as they successfully picked out the yellow items. It was an engaging and fun way to learn!

We also encouraged everyone to wear yellow, creating a beautiful moment of togetherness. The kids looked vibrant and cheerful, enhancing the fun atmosphere of our session!

Art

Our art session was fantastic! We painted ducks using handprints and explored yellow colors together. We first put on our smocks and handed out paper to each child. They dipped their hands in yellow paint and printed their handprints on the paper. Then, using brushes, they added legs to their creations. The kids were excited to see the final results, and their engagement was wonderful to see!

Music

Our recent music session was   centered on action songs, which effectively enhanced the children's listening skills. Engaging with the music allowed them to participate actively and have fun while learning, greatly benefiting the kids' listening skills.

We started by discussing the song choice, and once we played "One Little Finger," the children became fully immersed, participating actively with actions and movements. It was a joyful and interactive experience for everyone!

Library

Our library session went well! We began by reading "Says Please, Little Bear," which taught the children about politeness and sharing. After the group reading, the kids selected their own books and engaged with the illustrations, discussing them with friends. They also picked a book to take home, encouraging a love for reading.

Science

A Fun Science Session with Spaghetti

In our recent science session, we mixed  spaghetti with yellow food color. The excitement in the room was palpable as we gathered on our mats, ready to dive into the fun.

We began by distributing plates to each child. As they saw the  spaghetti, their faces lit up with enthusiasm. They  took turns adding spaghetti to their plates.

Next, we encouraged them to taste a little bit of their creations. The initial bites were met with giggles, and soon, they began to touch and cut the spaghetti, exploring its properties. This led to a discussion about food coloring, sparking their imaginations as they guessed different colors. “Orange!” said  Oliver , while Samaria confidently shouted, “Red!”

The best part was when we mixed in more food coloring, prompting laughter as they observed the changing colors. “Now it’s yellow!” said Noam , showcasing their understanding and excitement. The activity was not only engaging but also a wonderful way to introduce basic concepts of color mixing and texture. Once we wrapped up, the children were given a few minutes to clean up. However, they were so engrossed that they asked for more time to explore their colorful creations.

Finally, we removed the art smocks and washed our hands, concluding a delightful and educational session that left everyone wanting more. This hands-on experience truly highlighted the joy of learning through play!
