Dear Parents,

We hope you had a wonderful week! Our Early Preschool had a lively and busy week learning, exploring, and creating together. Please take a moment to read and enjoy our weekly blog to see all the exciting things we did in class recently!

Large Group

Our large group time this week was amazing as always! We began our morning by greeting each other with big smiles and sharing what we ate for breakfast. This helped the children express themselves and build their communication skills while enjoying listening to their friends’ answers. Afterwards, we sang our cheerful “Good Morning Song,” which made everyone feel happy and ready to start the day together.

We then introduced the color orange, which will be the color we focus on for the week. The children were very excited to look around and find different orange things in our classroom. After that, we took attendance and practiced recognizing our friends’ names as they responded with happy voices.

Next, we read a lovely story called “Let’s Play, Happy Giraffe,” which led to a fun discussion about colors. The children enjoyed talking about the colors they saw in the book and the colors they were wearing that day, connecting the story to real life. To end our session, we practiced counting numbers 1 to 10 using the number chart on our wall. Everyone participated with excitement, showing great progress and enthusiasm in recognizing numbers.

Literacy

Our literacy session continued with tracing activities, but this time we made it even more creative by using orange materials to follow the lines we had practiced last time. The children were very engaged as they carefully placed the orange items along the lines, showing great focus and excitement.

During this activity, they were not only practicing tracing but also identifying the color orange, describing the materials they used, and strengthening their fine and gross motor skills. As they placed each item, they talked about what they saw — some said  “orange blocks”, “carrot” and “star”— which helped them build vocabulary and confidence in expressing ideas.

This session also encouraged problem-solving skills, as the children had to think about how to fit and position the materials correctly along the tracing lines. It was wonderful to see their teamwork, creativity, and persistence throughout. Overall, it was a fun and meaningful literacy experience that supported their color recognition, coordination, and communication development.

Art

Our art session this week was all about continuing our exploration of the color orange. We worked on a creative project using white paper plates, glue, and orange paper to help children recognize and create the color of the week. We began by introducing the materials and explaining what we were going to make. The children were all very excited and ready to start!

We began the activity by giving each child a leaf-shaped paper and asking, “What color is a leaf?” Most of them quickly responded, “Green!” So, we handed out green crayons, and the children joyfully scribbled and colored their leaves. Afterwards, each child received a white paper plate to apply glue on it. They showed great focus and understanding as we talked about how leaves grow on branches and how oranges hang from them.

To build on that idea, we gave them small brown paper pieces to represent the branches. The children carefully placed and stuck their green leaves and brown branches on their plates, showing both creativity and coordination. It was amazing to see how they remembered our color discussion and connected it with their art.

Since our project is connected to our weekly color theme, the activity will continue next week, when the children will tear the orange paper into small pieces and stick them on the plates to complete their beautiful orange craft. It was a joyful and hands-on session filled with learning, discovery, and artistic expression!

Science

Our science session was filled with excitement and discovery! We conducted a sensory activity using a plastic bag filled with papaya. The children were curious and excited as they explored what was inside. They touched, squeezed, and pressed the bag, watching how the papaya spread and created a beautiful orange color. It was a wonderful sensory experience that allowed them to explore texture, color, and cause and effect in a fun way.

We also noticed great teamwork during the activity, with the children sharing the materials, helping each other hold the bag, and talking about what they saw and felt. It was heartwarming to see how they communicated and worked together.

This activity supported their sensory development, fine motor skills, and social interaction. It also encouraged observation and curiosity, helping them learn through play and exploration!

Gymnastics

Our gymnastics session continued with the fun and energetic activity of jumping on musical dots and shooting a ball into the basket. We arranged the colorful musical dots in a line and gave each child a turn. As they jumped from one dot to another, we asked them to name the color they landed on. Most of the children confidently identified the colors, which made us very proud! After finishing their jumps, they picked up a ball and tried to throw it into the basket, which brought lots of excitement and laughter to the session.

This activity was not only fun but also very educational and developmental. It helped the children improve their gross motor skills, body coordination, and balance as they jumped and moved with control. Identifying the colors supported their color recognition and cognitive development, while taking turns and cheering for friends encouraged social interaction, patience, and team spirit.
