Dear Parents,

We hope this blog finds you well. Here in our Early Preschool class, we’ve had a wonderful week filled with fun, learning, and joyful moments. The children explored, created, and shared a variety of exciting experiences together, and we are so proud of their curiosity and growth.

We invite you to enjoy reading this week’s blog and to see the beautiful moments your little ones experienced with us.

Large Group

Our large group time was filled with meaningful communication and connection! We began by giving each child an opportunity to talk about their morning. The children shared how their morning went, what they ate for breakfast, and the color of the clothes they were wearing. This encouraged language development, confidence, and social interaction as they listened to one another and took turns speaking.

After our discussion, we sang a cheerful Good Morning song, which helped create a positive and welcoming classroom atmosphere. We then took attendance together, allowing the children to recognize their names and pictures and feel a sense of belonging in the group.

The children were engaged, expressive, and happy to participate. Large group time has been a wonderful way to build communication skills, strengthen routines, and start our day with positive energy.

Art

This week, our art session focused on exploring shapes, with special attention given to the circle. We carefully prepared the classroom by setting up the tables with circle-drawn papers, rice, glue, and brushes, creating an inviting and organized art space for the children.

Before beginning the activity, we gathered the students together and introduced the shape of the day. We asked, “What shape is this?” Many children confidently responded, “circle!” while others listened and learned by observing their friends. We talked about the circle’s shape, explaining that it is round and has no corners.

Next, we demonstrated how to apply glue neatly along the circle using a brush and how to gently place the rice inside the shape. The children were very excited and eager to participate. As they worked, they showed great concentration, patience, and creativity. This activity helped strengthen their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and shape recognition.

The children were fully engaged throughout the session and took pride in their artwork. They enjoyed the sensory experience of touching the rice and using the glue, which made learning even more meaningful. The finished projects were beautiful and showed each child’s effort and creativity. It was a joyful art experience that supported both learning and self-expression.

Literacy

This week in our classroom, our literacy activity focused on tracing, an important skill that helps children develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, focus, and early writing readiness. We connected our literacy activity to the shape of the week, which was the circle, to help reinforce learning across different areas.

For this activity, we moved outside the classroom to create more space. We set up two tables, and each student received a paper with a circle drawing. We provided soft blocks for tracing along the line, which made the activity fun and engaging for the children.

At first, some students found it challenging to understand how to trace the circle correctly. To support them, we divided the children into three small groups, with one teacher working closely with three students at a time. The teachers explained the activity in detail, demonstrated how to trace the circle, and asked the children to name the shape as they worked.

With this extra guidance and support, the activity went very well. The children became more confident, stayed focused, and enjoyed practicing their tracing skills. It was wonderful to see their progress and enthusiasm as they successfully completed the activity and recognized the circle shape.

Gymnastics

Our gymnastics session began with fun and simple warm-up activities to help the children stretch their bodies and get ready to move. After warming up, we introduced an exciting activity using musical dots arranged in order. The dots were connected to different shapes and colors, making the activity both fun and educational.

We played music and called out the name of a specific musical dot. The children listened carefully and then jumped onto the correct dot. This activity encouraged the students to follow instructions, stay focused, and respond quickly. It also supported their color recognition, shape awareness, hand-eye coordination, gross motor skills, and overall body control.

The children were very enthusiastic and actively participated throughout the session. They showed great energy, balance, and confidence while moving from one dot to another. Everyone did an amazing job, and the session was filled with joy and learning through movement!

Science: Blue Macaroni Mixing

This week, our early preschool students enjoyed a fun outdoor science activity in the grass area. The children explored mixing macaroni with blue food coloring, making the experience both exciting and rich with sensory input.

Before starting, we prepared two tables outside and helped the children put on art smocks to keep their clothes clean. A large plate was placed on the table to hold the macaroni. The children gathered around with great curiosity as the blue food coloring was added, and they took turns mixing the macaroni together.

Being outdoors made the activity even more enjoyable. The children used their hands to mix, feel the texture of the macaroni, and watch as the color slowly changed to blue. This activity supported fine motor development, color recognition, and sensory exploration, while also encouraging cooperation and curiosity.

The children had so much fun learning through play in the fresh air, and it was a joyful and messy science experience for everyone.

Library

Our library session was calm and enjoyable. They explored different picture books and showed great interest in looking at the images and turning the pages. The children chose books by themselves and shared what they saw with their friends.

During this time, we encouraged the children to talk about the pictures, name objects, and listen to simple stories. This activity supported early language development, listening skills, and a love for books. Library time was a peaceful and happy moment for our learners.
