Dear Parents,

We hope you had a wonderful week! We had a busy and delightful week here in the Preschool class, filled with a variety of engaging activities for our students. The children enjoyed learning, exploring, and creating together. Please enjoy reading our weekly highlights and take a moment to enjoy the pictures that capture these special moments.

Large Group

Our large group sessions were filled with smiles, active participation, and joyful learning. As usual, we all sat together in a big circle to begin our day. We started by warmly saying “Good Morning” to our students, and asking how their morning was, creating a joyful and welcoming atmosphere. One by one, each student shared about their morning. This is a great opportunity for students to build their confidence and practice speaking in front of their friends. After sharing time, we sang our Good Morning song, which brought lots of energy and excitement to the group.

Next, we reviewed our Zoophonics letters from A to Z, practicing each letter’s sound and motion together. The students were very engaged and enjoyed moving their bodies while learning their letter sounds. We then talked about the days of the week and discussed the weather, helping the children connect their learning to their everyday experiences. After that, we took attendance. Students who were present placed their picture on the happy face, and those who were absent were placed on the sad face. This activity helped the children recognize their friends and understand attendance in a meaningful way. Finally, we worked on our message board for the week and practiced counting numbers 1 to 10. Every student got a chance to participate. To finish our large group time, the children counted confidently and supported one another, showing teamwork and growing confidence.

Small Group Activities

Art

In our  art session, we explored the circle shape through a fun collage activity. We began by talking about what a circle is and where we can see it around us. The students were then each given a circle shape, glue, and pieces of paper. They enjoyed ripping the paper and carefully sticking the pieces inside the circle. To finish their artwork, each child added their favorite color of glitter. The activity went very well, and the students were highly focused and engaged throughout the session.

Library

In our library session, the students chose their favorite books from the shelf and found a comfortable place to sit. They enjoyed opening their books, turning the pages, and looking closely at the pictures. The children were excited to share familiar animals, tools, and materials they recognized in their books. The session went very well, and the students were calm, focused, and engaged as they explored and shared their discoveries.

Math

In our math session, we practiced counting numbers using different items from the classroom, such as pom-poms, bears, and colorful counting toys. The students chose their favorite materials, sat down, and counted the items for us. The activity went very well, and some students were able to count numbers up to 15, which we were proud to see. We ended the session by singing the “How Many Fingers” song. The whole class had a blast!

Literacy

In our literacy session, we continued practicing Zoophonics letters A to Z, learning each letter’s sound and action. The students were very engaged as they followed along with the motions and sounds. Afterward, they chose their favorite letter and proudly demonstrated its motion and sound for the group. The activity went very well, and the students were confident and engaged all throughout!
