Dear Parents,

We’ve had a fun and busy week in Early Preschool, full of learning and excitement! The children enjoyed exploring new activities, singing songs, reading stories, and practicing their movement skills. Each activity helped them grow, learn, and build confidence while having lots of fun together!

Large Group

Our large group session began with a warm greeting as the children gathered in a circle. We started by asking the students who was missing from the circle today. Many of them amazed us with how confidently they identified their friends. After that, we moved on to our daily weather check. The children observed the weather and helped us choose the correct weather picture to stick on the whiteboard.

Next, we sang our “Good Morning” song to set a cheerful and positive tone for the day. We continued last week’s new attendance routine, which is after sticking their own picture on the board, each child picked a second picture and walked around the circle to give the picture to the friend it belonged to. They said the friend’s name and made sure they handed it to the right person. This created a sweet moment of connection and encouraged communication and social skills.

We then invited 3–4 students to help with counting activities. They practiced counting the pictures of students who were present, the ones who were absent, and the number chart displayed on the wall. This supported number recognition, counting, and confidence in speaking in front of the group. We took a short water break to refresh. We ended our large group session with the fun action song “This Is My face”, which the children happily joined in and sang.

Art

During our art session, the children enjoyed a calm and creative painting activity using the color blue. Each child was given paper, and we prepared different painting spots in the green area to give them space and a relaxed environment. Soft, slow music was played in the background, which helped create a peaceful atmosphere and kept the children calm, focused, and engaged throughout the activity.

The children used one shared plate filled with blue paint. This encouraged them to practice sharing, taking turns, and working together as a team. They explored the paint freely, expressing their creativity through different strokes and ideas. Some painted carefully, while others experimented boldly, showing confidence and imagination.

The session was very enjoyable and meaningful. The children remained focused for a long time, demonstrated cooperation, and supported one another. Overall, it was a delightful, relaxing art experience that allowed the children to be creative while learning important social skills such as teamwork and sharing.

Literacy

During our literacy session, we introduced a fun and interactive activity using a cup phone made by the teacher. We began by showing the children the cup phone and explaining how it works, modeling how to speak and listen through it. This introduction immediately caught their attention and made them curious and excited.

At first, the children were more interested in touching and exploring the cup phone, as it was something new and interesting to them. They passed it around, examined it closely, and enjoyed holding it, even though they did not fully understand the purpose right away. With time, guidance, and repeated modeling, they slowly began to understand the idea of using it to communicate.

After a while, the children started using the cup phone to talk to one another. They greeted their friends by saying “good morning” and “hello,” and some even tried to talk about food and called out names of friends. This activity helped build their communication skills, listening skills, and confidence in speaking. The session was engaging, fun, and a great way to encourage early literacy and language development.

Gymnastics

During our gymnastics session, the children took part in various exciting activities that focused on developing balance, coordination, and body control! We began the session by explaining and demonstrating how to safely walk on the balance beam. The children were encouraged to stretch their arms out, look forward, and move slowly and carefully. One by one, they practiced walking across the beam. Some children walked confidently on their own, while others needed gentle support and reassurance. Everyone was encouraged to try, and each effort was celebrated.

After the balance beam activity, we moved on to a fun obstacle course. We placed three chairs opposite each other and added hula hoops to create a clear and playful pathway. The children walked through the obstacles, stepped in and out of the hula hoops, and carefully navigated around the chairs. This activity captured their attention and kept them fully engaged. They were excited to take turns, follow directions, and challenge themselves.

Throughout the session, the children showed great enthusiasm and energy. They supported and cheered for their friends, practiced patience while waiting, and became more confident with each turn. The activities helped strengthen their gross motor skills, balance, coordination, and spatial awareness. The children clearly enjoyed moving, exploring, and learning through play, and we can’t wait for our next gymnastics session!

Science

This week's science activity was a sensory delight! We focused on exploring body parts through feeling different materials with our feet. The children were introduced to different textures and temperatures using sand, cold water, and grass.

We began by explaining the activity inside the classroom, then moved outdoors. The children removed their shoes and socks and started by walking on the grass. They were incredibly excited and curious as they felt the texture under their feet.

Next, the children were paired and rotated through different stations. Some walked on sand, some stepped into cold water, and others stayed on the grass. In the middle of the activity, we asked the children how their feet felt. Even when they couldn’t fully express their reactions in words, their facial expressions clearly showed how they felt, especially when they stepped into the cold water!

This hands-on experience helped the children become more aware of their body parts and different sensations while learning in a fun and engaging way.
