Dear Parents,
As we wrap up the first semester of the school year, we feel happy and proud to have been on this journey with you and our students. Please enjoy some highlights from our final week of the semester. We hope you enjoy reading and looking through the photos that capture the wonderful moments we shared. We had an amazing week in our Preschool class, and we hope yours was great as well!
Large Group
During our large group sessions, we started each morning by singing our cheerful Good Morning song to set a positive tone for the day. We enjoyed reading the story “I Like Myself!”, which the whole class loved. Afterward, we reviewed our Zoophonics letters from A to Z using actions and movements. We also talked about the days of the week, checked the weather, and completed our attendance board.
This week, students took care of their flowers each morning by watering them and placing them in a sunny spot. They were very excited to see their plants grow. We also enjoyed meaningful discussions as children shared their interests, including their favorite animals, colors, shapes, fruits, their age, and how they introduce themselves. It was a wonderful time connecting with students and learning about their interests and choices.
Small Group
Cooperative Game 1
This week, our students enjoyed a cooperative and creative activity: making their very own bracelets! Using pipe cleaners and colorful beads, each student designed a bracelet for themselves. The students were highly focused, active, and enthusiastic throughout the activity. They carefully selected colors, threaded the beads, and proudly completed their designs. Everyone did an amazing job, and the session went very well. This activity helped strengthen hand–eye coordination, improve focus and attention span, and encourage creativity. It was wonderful to see the students working independently while enjoying the process and expressing their unique ideas.
Cooperative Game 2
We had a wonderful time with our students during a cooperative game activity combined with making fresh lemonade. The activity was designed to encourage teamwork, sharing, and cooperation among the students. The students worked turn by turn to prepare the lemonade. First, they took turns squeezing the lemons. After that, they added sugar and water, and then mixed everything very well. Once the lemonade was ready, they carefully poured it into cups and enjoyed drinking it using straws. This activity was not only fun but also educational. The students learned how to work together, wait for their turn, and help one another. It was truly a great time for everyone!
Gymnastics
Our most recent gymnastics session began with stretching our bodies to get ready for movement. After that, we warmed up by running a little and jogging together. This helped everyone feel energized and prepared for the activities ahead. Next, we introduced the day’s activities to the students. We chose two students and gently covered their eyes with a ribbon. Then, we placed some cubes on the floor. The activity was to crawl and find the cubes using their sense of touch. We were delighted to see how focused the students were, and how much fun everyone had. While some students were able to find the cubes quickly and others found it a bit difficult, everyone did their very best. This activity was very helpful in developing gross motor skills, understanding different textures, and following game rules. Most importantly, the students enjoyed playing and interacting with their peers.
Math
This week in our math session, the students worked on a dot-to-dot counting worksheet. They practiced counting numbers and matching them with the correct number of dots. After completing the counting part, the students added a creative touch by tearing and sticking their favorite colored paper onto the dots using glue. The activity went very well. Students were focused, engaged, and excited to combine math with a hands-on art element. They followed instructions carefully and showed great concentration throughout the session. Everyone did an amazing job, and we are very proud of their hard work and enthusiasm!
Art
Last week in our art session, we explored a fun and creative ice painting activity. The students mixed different food colors together to create a variety of colorful ice blocks. Watching the colors blend was exciting and sparked a lot of curiosity and joy.
This week, the students used their very own ice colors to paint on chart paper. One by one, each student got a chance to paint, experimenting with the melting ice and beautiful color patterns it created. The process was not only fun but also calming and engaging. The students were very happy, focused, and enthusiastic throughout the activity. The artwork turned out amazing, and each piece was unique. It was wonderful to see their creativity come to life through such a playful and hands-on experience.
Literacy
Our literacy session was a joyful and meaningful experience for both students and teachers. The students had the opportunity to create their very own small books, starting with a fun group discussion. We talked about their favorite things such as animals, colors, fruits, and shapes, along with simple questions to help them introduce themselves. After the discussion, the students began working on their books. They answered questions based on their interests by sticking questions and pictures into their books. Afterwards, they colored the pictures using crayons and markers, which made their books bright and personal. This activity helped us learn more about each student’s interests and nature. The students also learned that we all have different choices, and they respected and enjoyed those differences. It took two sessions to complete the books, and the results were wonderful. We loved their creativity and effort, and we are very proud of our students and their amazing work.
Science
Our science session was very exciting and fun. The students learned science through a hands-on activity by making pancakes together. Each student had a turn to participate. They started by mixing the ingredients such as eggs, flour, salt, sugar, milk, and water in a bowl. The students took turns mixing the ingredients carefully until everything was well combined. They were very focused and enjoyed being part of the process. After the mixture was ready, we helped them by baking the pancakes. When the pancakes were done, the students enjoyed eating them with their friends. They were very happy and excited. All the students finished their plates and really loved the activity.
Have a nice weekend!
