Dear parents,

We hope this blog finds you well! Here in the infants class, it’s been 2 weeks full of creativity, bonding, and of course lots of educational adventures. Please enjoy reading some of the highlights…

Happy birthday Mille and Eonn

Circle time

We began our large group activity with a cheerful “Good Morning” song to welcome everyone and start the day with smiles. After singing, we took the class’s attendance together, checking who is here and who is not. This step helps children recognize their friends and feel part of the group, and gives them a chance to demonstrate their independence. We then read the book “Little Lion Shares”, a heartwarming story that taught us about the importance of sharing and caring for others. After a thoughtful discussion, the children got to choose two songs- one song to sing seated, and another movement song to stand up and dance to. These moments brought the perfect blend of energy, laughter, and togetherness to our morning!

Teamwork in a Cup!

During this joyful and cooperative activity, our infants engaged in a simple yet meaningful game that highlighted the power of teamwork. With each child holding a cup, they worked together to pass a small ball from one cup to the next, forming a careful and focused line of sharing. The children showed great concentration as they gently tipped their cups to guide the ball into a friend’s, laughing and cheering each other on with every successful pass.

This game provided a fun and engaging opportunity to practice patience, hand-eye coordination, and social interaction. As the ball made its way from one end of the line to the other, the children experienced the joy of working together toward a shared goal—building not only fine motor skills, but also a sense of community and accomplishment.

Gymnastics

Balancing and Jumping Fun!

Gymnastics time was full of energy and excitement as our young learners took on two playful challenges that encouraged movement, coordination, and confidence. First, the children carefully walked across a thin walking stick, focusing on steady steps and using their arms to help balance. With concentration and determination, they made their way across, practicing control and awareness of their bodies.

Next came the jumping fun! With big smiles, the children took turns leaping into hula hoops placed on the floor. Each jump built strength, rhythm, and confidence, as they explored how their bodies moved through space. We can’t wait for our next gymnastics session!

Literacy and Language

In our recent engaging literacy activity, our young learners explored the joy of spoken language through pretend phone play. Using toy phones, the children took turns "calling" each other, mimicking real conversations just like grown-ups. With enthusiasm and imagination, they greeted their friends, asked questions, and responded with giggles and expressive voices.

This playful interaction supported important early literacy skills, including vocabulary development, listening, turn-taking, and the rhythm of back-and-forth conversation. As the children chatted away, they practiced using language for a purpose—expressing ideas, emotions, and social connections.

Science

In this exciting hands-on science activity, our curious little scientists rolled up their sleeves and dove into the process of making their very own play dough! With great enthusiasm, the children helped measure, pour, and mix everyday ingredients like flour, salt, water, and oil. As they combined each part, they watched with wide eyes as the mixture transformed into soft, colorful dough right before them.

This sensory-rich experience introduced important early science concepts such as cause and effect, measuring, and observing change. The children noticed textures, smells, and colors as they worked—strengthening their fine motor skills and engaging their natural curiosity.

Art

During art class, our young artists had a wonderful time working on a button collage project. First, we painted the background of the canvas with a light purple color. After the paint dried, the students carefully selected buttons in different shades and sizes of purple. Using glue, they had a blast sticking them onto the canvas, exploring how to arrange the buttons creatively. It was a fun yet calming activity that encouraged focus and fine motor skills.

Library

During our library sessions, children are given the opportunity to choose their favorite books from the shelves. They enjoy exploring the pictures and reading by themselves or with a teacher. After spending time with the books in class, each child selects one book to take home and share with their family. This routine helps foster a love for reading and builds independence in making choices.
