Dear Parents,

Our little learners had a blast exploring, creating, and growing this week! From hands-on math and science adventures to exciting literacy activities, every day was filled with discovery. These interactive experiences helped build essential cognitive skills, pattern recognition, and vocabulary all while having tons of fun!

Happy Birth Day Arthur!

Large group

Our Early Pre-K children had a lively and learning-filled week! We dove into the letter "l" hunting for it in words around the classroom, practicing its sound, and expanding our vocabulary with fun "l" words. During morning messages, the children enthusiastically counted from 1 to 20, strengthening their number recognition.

In math, we introduced the number 14, counting out 14 fingers together and discovering ABC patterns through playful activities. Every day was packed with teamwork, curiosity, and growth.

Math

This week our young learners engaged in a delightful activity that not only enhanced their understanding of patterns but also fostered their creativity and critical thinking skills. The task at hand was to create ABC patterns using markers, blocks, and Teddy bears- a hands-on approach that had the children buzzing with excitement. Each student was given a set of markers, blocks, and Teddy bears. The challenge was simple yet engaging: create an ABC pattern using the three objects provided.

As the activity began, the children wasted no time in diving into their creations. Some meticulously arranged the markers in a colorful sequence, while others stacked the blocks in an alternating pattern. The Teddy bears, with their soft fur and adorable faces, added a playful touch to the designs as they were placed strategically in the sequence.

As the session progressed, it was evident that the children were not only having fun but also learning valuable mathematical concepts. By manipulating the markers, blocks, and Teddy bears, they were able to grasp the concept of ABC patterns in a tangible way, building a strong foundation for future math skills.

Science

In a bustling classroom filled with eager faces, a group of children embarked on a journey of discovery, exploring the fascinating world beneath our feet—soil. Armed with curiosity and a sense of adventure, these young scientists eagerly dug their hands into the soil, ready to uncover its secrets.

The session began with a brief introduction to soil, its importance in sustaining life, and the different types of soil textures. The children listened intently, their eyes wide with wonder and excitement. As they played and experimented with the soil, the children began to understand the concept of soil texture in a hands-on way. Through their exploration, the children gained a deeper appreciation for the role soil plays in supporting plant life.

In the end, the children had not just learned about soil texture; they had experienced it firsthand, getting their hands dirty and delving into the mysteries of the earth. It was a time full of wonder, discovery, and learning for all!

Library

This week, we had a captivating library session that left a lasting impression on our young learners. As the children gathered in a circle, anticipation filled the air. We read a story about a small fly named “Super Fly Guy” who discovers he has superpowers. The children's eyes widened with wonder as they were transported into Super Fly Guy's world, filled with adventure and excitement. As the story unfolded, the children were mesmerized by Super Fly Guy's courage and determination as he faced various challenges and overcame them with his newfound abilities. They laughed at his amusing antics and cheered him on as he saved the day, proving that even the smallest creatures can accomplish great things.

Throughout the session, the teacher skillfully engaged the children, asking thought-provoking questions and encouraging them to share their own thoughts and ideas. The children eagerly participated, offering their unique perspectives and insights, making the experience even more enriching and interactive. By the end of the session, the children's faces were beaming with joy and excitement. They enthusiastically shared their favorite parts of the story and expressed how much they enjoyed the session.

Literacy

This week in our literacy session, a unique approach was taken to foster not just reading and writing skills, but also to enhance fine motor skills and unleash creativity. The session involved children drawing their own art in their journals, proving to be a fun and engaging activity with numerous benefits for their development.

As the children began drawing in their journals, it was fascinating to observe the level of concentration and focus they exhibited. Some meticulously sketched intricate designs, while others splashed colors in bold strokes. The act of holding a pencil and maneuvering it across the page required precise movements, thereby aiding in the development of their fine motor skills. This aspect is crucial, especially for younger children who are still refining their hand-eye coordination.

Moreover, the process of creating their art encouraged the children to think imaginatively and express their thoughts visually. By translating their ideas into drawings, they were not only enhancing their creativity but also strengthening their cognitive abilities. This integration of art and literacy opened up new avenues for self-expression and communication, allowing the children to narrate stories through their artwork.
