Dear Parents,
We have had a wonderful week filled with fun and engaging activities that supported the children’s learning and social growth. It was great to see them share ideas, work together, and build friendships. We look forward to another exciting week ahead! Read on to see what we were up to…
Happy Birthday
Large Group
Our large group time was filled with joy and excitement! We began our morning by exploring the color green, which quickly became the highlight of our discussion. The children looked around the room to spot different green items and happily
shared about the colors they were wearing that day. We then sang our cheerful “Good Morning” song together, which brought lots of smiles and energy to start our day.
After singing, we took attendance and greeted each other warmly, helping everyone feel included and ready to learn. To end our session, we enjoyed reading a heart warming story titled “Why I Love My Mommy.” The children listened with great interest and shared sweet thoughts about their own mommies. It was a fun, colorful, and loving way to begin our morning! 💚🌿📚
Art
Our art session this week was connected to our color of the week — green! 🌿 To make our activity more natural and meaningful, we used real leaves for stamping. The children were very excited to explore and create with the leaves, pressing them gently to see the beautiful green prints appear on their papers.
This activity was not only fun but also a great way to help children identify colors, strengthen their fine motor skills, and build hand–eye coordination. Everyone wore their art smocks and followed the teacher’s guidance carefully. Throughout the session, we encouraged the children to talk about the different shades of green they saw — and they loved sharing their ideas! It was a creative, colorful, and hands-on experience that brought a little piece of nature into our classroom.
Library
Our library time was amazing as always! 📚 This week, we noticed that our students were even more engaged and interested in reading. Many of them eagerly picked out the same books they had taken home before — a wonderful sign that their families are also reading together. It’s so heart warming to see how our parents are involved and supporting their children’s love for books.
Reading time continues to be one of our favorite parts of the day, helping children build early literacy skills, imagination, and a lifelong love for stories. We’re so proud of their growing enthusiasm for books!
Literacy
Our literacy session was all about following lines, and it was both fun and educational! We created straight lines and zigzag lines using tape on the floor. After setting them up, we went outside the classroom and sat together on the mat. The teacher demonstrated how to follow each line, explaining the difference between straight and zigzag paths. Then, the children took turns practicing.
Most of our students followed the lines beautifully, while a few needed a bit more practice with focusing, listening, and coordination—which is perfectly okay as they continue to learn and grow!
This activity was very important because it helps children develop their gross motor skills, concentration, and early pre-writing abilities. By learning to move along straight and zigzag lines, they are building the foundation for future writing and fine motor control. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and effort throughout the session!
Math
This week, our math activity was a hands-on delight! We used paper with yellow, red, and green colors. The children were given pompoms in the same three colors and asked to place each pompom on the piece of paper that has the same color. This activity helped them identify and sort colors correctly. It also supported their fine motor skills as they picked up and placed the small pompoms carefully. The children enjoyed the task, showing excitement as they matched each color. Some of them even counted how many pompoms they used, which encouraged early number awareness. It was a fun and engaging way to combine math and color learning together!
