Dear Parents,
We hope you had a wonderful week! Our Preschoolers had a lively and busy week learning, exploring, and creating together. Please take a moment to read and enjoy our weekly blog to see all the exciting things we did in class recently!
Large Group
As usual, our large group sessions were filled with learning, laughter, and active participation! We began by sitting in a circle and singing our cheerful Good Morning song. Then, we read the story “How to Brush Your Teeth”, and the children shared their thoughts about it. After that, we met our Zoo-phonics friends from A to Z, reviewing the sounds and actions for each letter. We talked about the weather and days of the week, helping the children strengthen their daily routine skills. During attendance, everyone was excited to take part. Finally, we explored our message board and introduced the diamond shape, discussing its sides and color. The children were engaged and enthusiastic throughout the session.
Small Group
Math
In our math session, we practiced counting numbers 1–10 using one-to-one correspondence. The children used various materials such as animals, brushes, markers, pompoms, crayons, and laminated number flashcards. Each child chose their favorite material and number, and then counted carefully to match the quantity. The activity went smoothly, and everyone enjoyed learning through hands-on fun!
Library
In our library session, we read a wonderful book called “How You Brush Your Teeth”, which we also revisited during large group time. The story taught us how to keep our teeth clean, strong, and shiny by brushing twice a day—every morning and night. We learned the proper way to brush: using a soft toothbrush, a little toothpaste, and gentle circular motions for two minutes. The book also reminded us to clean not just the front teeth, but also the back teeth and tongue too! We talked about foods that help our teeth, like fruits, vegetables, cheese, and milk, and learned that sugary snacks and drinks can harm them. Everyone enjoyed sharing their own tooth brushing routines and tips. To finish, the children explored other books and chose one to take home for more reading fun. It was a great session full of smiles and learning!
Gymnastics
In our recent gymnastics session, we focused on a balancing activity that everyone really enjoyed! We began the session with a warm-up to get our bodies ready. The students started with stretching and jogging exercises, which helped to loosen up their muscles and prepare them for the main activity. After warming up, we set up two chairs facing each other and connected them securely. One by one, the students took turns lying on their tummies across the chairs and lifting their legs up to practice balance and core strength. It was amazing to see how confidently and carefully everyone performed the exercise. The students showed great teamwork, focus, and enthusiasm throughout the session. Overall, it was a fun and successful gymnastics activity that helped improve their balance and body control!
Science
In this week’s science class, we learned all about hygiene — how to wash our hands properly, how to use the bathroom correctly, and how to keep our teeth healthy. After our discussion, students received toothbrushes, toothpaste, and water to practice cleaning “teeth” on laminated A4 pictures. We covered the teeth pictures with marker stains, and students took turns brushing and washing them until they were clean. Everyone enjoyed the activity and learned the importance of good hygiene in a fun, hands-on way!
Music
In our music session, we sang a variety of fun and educational songs connected to our weekly activities. The children enjoyed singing “Wash Your Hands Every Single Day,” “How Many Fingers,” and songs about different shapes. After our group singing, we gave each student a turn to choose their favorite song. Everyone had a chance to lead and sing along with their friends — it was such a joyful time! Through singing, dancing, and following actions, the children not only had fun but also developed their fine and gross motor skills. These music sessions help them express themselves, improve coordination, and build confidence while learning in an enjoyable way.
Literacy
In our literacy class this week, we practiced tracing Zoo-Phonics letters using colorful play dough. Students chose their favorite color and their favorite letter, then carefully traced it with the play dough. Everyone was very focused and did an excellent job. It was a fun and creative way to learn letter shapes and sounds!
