Dear Parents,

It’s been a wonderful week in Early Preschool and Preschool! We hope your week has been just as great. We’re excited to share a few highlights from our classroom activities—full of learning, laughter, and fun. Enjoy reading about what we’ve been up to, and don’t forget to check out the lovely pictures of your amazing children in action! We also want to wish you all a very Happy Easter if your family celebrates it, and for those who don’t, enjoy the long weekend! We look forward to seeing all of you back on Tuesday (April 22).

Large group

During our large group time this week, we gathered in a circle and had some great discussions together. We started by talking about the weather, followed by taking attendance and greeting our friends. We also reviewed the days of the week and had a meaningful chat about our classroom rules. The students participated with enthusiasm, sharing their thoughts and showing great listening skills. It was a great way to start our day with focus, fun, and teamwork!

Art

This week in our art session, we had a blast exploring colors and creativity! Our students chose their favorite paints, including blue, red, purple, pink, black, white, green, yellow, light blue, and dark blue. We poured all the colors into a jug and then onto our canvases. The fun really began when we used hair dryers to spread the paint across the canvas. The colors swirled and blended beautifully, creating unique and vibrant artworks. It was a very messy activity, but the students absolutely loved it. We all enjoyed the process and the results — a perfect mix of fun and creativity!

Math

In our recent math session, we had a fun and interactive activity focused on AB patterns using triangle and circle shapes. We began by discussing what patterns are, and the students quickly caught on to the concept of repeating sequences. After our discussion, each student received their favorite colored A4 paper, along with cutouts of circles and triangles. With glue sticks in hand and creativity flowing, the students began creating their own AB patterns by alternating the shapes. It was amazing to see how focused and engaged they were! Not only did they grasp the concept, but they also went beyond our expectations with their neat work and thoughtful designs. We’re so proud of their efforts and can’t wait for more hands-on math fun ahead!

Literacy

This week in our literacy session, we had a wonderful time exploring all the Zoo phonics letters, along with their sounds and motions. The students were thrilled to see each letter come to life with fun actions and sounds that helped them connect with the alphabet in an engaging way. After reviewing all the letters, each student picked the beginning sound of their name. They confidently stood up to show their friends the matching motion and sound. It was such a joyful and interactive moment! The students were fully engaged throughout the session, and it was great to see them learning and having fun at the same time. We’re looking forward to more exciting literacy adventures!

Library

In our library session this week, we read a delightful book called "Polite Cat". The story taught us how to ask for things politely and the importance of saying “thank you” when someone gives us something. The students listened attentively and really enjoyed the message of the story. After reading, the children got to choose their favorite books and explore them with curiosity. They carefully looked at each picture, enjoying the illustrations and discovering new things on every page. It was a calm and joyful time filled with learning and imagination!

Ethiopian center

This week at the Ethiopian Center, the students had a wonderful time engaging in rich cultural play. Some of them wore traditional Ethiopian clothing, while others explored different musical instruments, creating joyful sounds together. Many children were busy pretending to go shopping or making coffee, just like in a real Ethiopian setting. It was heartwarming to see their imaginations at work as they played together, shared materials, and practiced important social skills. It truly was a beautiful moment of learning through culture and play!
