Dear Parents,
We hope you had a wonderful week! Our preschoolers had a lively and busy week learning, exploring, and creating together. Please take a moment to read and enjoy our weekly blog to see all the exciting things we did in class!
Large Group
Today, our large group session was filled with learning, laughter, and active participation! We began by sitting together in a circle and singing our cheerful Good Morning Song to start the day on a happy note. After that, we enjoyed reading a wonderful story titled “Gary and Ray.” The children listened attentively and shared their thoughts about the book. Then, we met our Zoo-phonics friends from A to Z — everyone had fun reviewing the sounds and actions that go with each letter! Next, we talked about the weather and the days of the week, helping the children strengthen their understanding of daily routines. We also took attendance, which the children love being part of. Finally, we explored our message board together and counted how many pompoms we could see — one by one! The children were fully engaged and participated with great enthusiasm throughout the session.
Small Group
Library
In our library session, we read a wonderful book called Gary and Ray. The story was all about friendship and how friends help and care for each other. All the students were sitting quietly and listening carefully to the story. Everyone enjoyed the session and learned how important it is to be a good friend.
Math
In our math session, we explored AB patterns using fun and colorful materials such as pompoms, animals, and fruits. Each student chose two of their favorite colors and used them to create their own AB pattern. It was wonderful to see how creatively the students worked! They carefully followed the pattern rule and made beautiful sequences. Everyone enjoyed the activity while learning how patterns help us organize and understand the world around us.
Literacy
In our literacy session, students had a wonderful time decorating their journal books using glue, colorful papers, ribbons, and glitter. They showed great creativity and enthusiasm while making their journals unique and beautiful. It was a great opportunity for students to express their interests and make choices about their designs. Everyone enjoyed the activity and felt proud of their colorful creations!
Art
This week’s art session was full of color, creativity, and exploration of culture! Our students took part in a fun and meaningful activity — coloring their country’s flags, which not only engaged them thoroughly but was also a great tie-in to our upcoming international family day. We provided each student with a printed flag-coloring sheet and a wide variety of crayons to bring their flags to life. It was wonderful to see how carefully and proudly they worked, paying attention to every detail and color.
Beyond practicing coloring skills, this session helped our students learn more about their country’s identity and what their flag represents. The classroom was filled with excitement, laughter, and beautiful displays of colorful flags from around the world. It was truly inspiring to see our young artists express both their creativity and love for their nation through art!
