Dear parents,
We hope you're doing great! Please take a moment to enjoy the highlights from our short week and have a look at the wonderful pictures of the students engaged in their activities.
Large Group
We began our day by gathering in a big circle and singing our cheerful "Good Morning" song together. After that, we talked about the weather and reviewed the days of the week, which helped us get ready for the day ahead. Next, we took attendance and made sure everyone was here and ready to learn. On our message board, we introduced an AB pattern using circle and triangle shapes. The students were very engaged and participated with excitement. It was a great start to our day!
Small Group
Art
In art session, we asked the students what they wanted to draw. Each child shared their idea, and we provided them with their favorite markers and paper to bring their visions to life. It was a fun and creative time! The children enjoyed expressing their ideas through art, and we loved seeing their imaginations come to life on paper.
Math
In our math session, we explored AB patterns using colorful animals and pompoms. Each student chose their two favorite colors and used them to create their own unique pattern.
The activity was hands-on and engaging. Students enjoyed arranging the animals and pompoms in repeating color sequences like red-blue-red-blue. It was a fun way to understand how patterns work!
Everyone participated with excitement, and the activity went really well. We loved seeing the creativity and confidence in their learning!
Ethiopian Center
In our Ethiopian Center, students had a wonderful time continuing their exploration of Ethiopian culture. They played with a variety of traditional musical instruments and materials, learning through hands-on experience. The children wore traditional Ethiopian clothes and enjoyed pretend play, creating different scenarios with their friends. It was a joyful and engaging experience that allowed them to connect with culture in a fun and meaningful way.
Music
In our music session, we gave students the exciting chance to choose their favorite songs—and they loved it! Everyone was eager to join in, and their choices helped shape a fun and engaging time together. We sang a mix of standing-up and sitting-down songs to keep things lively and interactive. Some of the favorites included: "Please and Thank You," "Elephants Have Wrinkles", "How Many Fingers on One Hand", "Baby Shark".
