SO Much Fun In Pre-k

Dear parents,

We hope this blog finds you well! This three-day week was filled with lots of busy and fun activities. Our students really enjoyed being in school. They are growing, playing, and learning in every way. This week, we focused on math, literacy, and science. They have been exploring, learning, and playing together, having a blast through all the activities.

Let’s take you through some of the highlights…

Science

This week in science, the class built on the concepts from last week and learned about healthy and unhealthy foods. We discussed what healthy foods are and why they are beneficial for our bodies, and the same went for unhealthy foods. After our discussion, the students sorted healthy and unhealthy foods by cutting and sticking them based on categories. This activity helped them be more mindful of their snacks and avoid unhealthy options.

Math

This week, we started a new topic in math, focusing on missing numbers. We worked on identifying missing numbers from 1 to 10. After counting to 10, we continued counting all the way to 20 in different ways. Then, we stuck some numbers on the board, and the students looked for the missing numbers on the floor, picking them up and sticking them between the missing numbers on the board. This was fun and made the class more engaging. In the coming weeks, we will continue working on this.

Literacy

This week for literacy, we introduced the students to new letters using Zoo-Phonics. Zoo-Phonics will help them easily recognize the letters and sounds with their characters. In the coming weeks, we will continue to work on these letters to help them improve.

Reminder

Every Tuesday is our library day, so we will be sending a book that your child picked from our library, which will be returned after a week on library day.

Every Friday is our art day so please send your child with art-appropriate clothing.
