Fun Week In Kindergarten!!

Hello Dear Parents,

How was your week? Ours was a week filled with fun, laughter and of course, caring for one another.

Large group

During our large group session, we started by singing the ‘Good morning song.’ We read a book called ‘A Big White Man eating Shark,’ which was so captivating that everyone was eagerly waiting for the next page. We participated in a circle time Calendar activity that helped us improve our time management skills, and sharing our days allowed us to connect on a deeper level.

Literacy

During our literacy session this week, we focused on two activities: sentence reading and CVC words. Both activities went well. For sentence reading, we printed out a simple sentence and cut out the pieces so the students could construct the sentences by themselves. They amazed us with their ability to read and construct sentences on their own. For the CVC words, we used a tissue roll with CVC words printed on it. The students had fun turning the roll to read out the words.

“This is hard but i finished” Kevin

      “See i found pan” Ruut

“Ya! I read the sentence.” Haon

Math

During our math session this week, we worked on addition as well as counting and skipping numbers by '5'. The addition activity involved using different types of shapes, while for counting and skipping, we used a musical dot with the numbers. The students had fun participating in both activities and did an amazing job.

“Wow, skipping numbers by 5 is fun!” Yazeed

“Is 3+2 5” Ruut

“Ya Addition!” Abigail

“I will go till imaginary 100.” Andre

Journal

During our journal session, everyone was calm and focused as they worked to express their creative side. All participants were engaged and dedicated to producing wonderful outcomes, as they always do through their unique creativity.

Science

During our science session this week, we explored the concept of 'sink and float' materials. The kids were engaged as they experimented with various materials to learn which ones sink or float, as well as discovering the relationship between density and buoyancy. They were able to understand that heavy materials sink while light materials float on water. It was a fun and educational activity for everyone involved.

“Can I try the marker?” Haon

“Light materials float.” Yazeed
