Dear Family, How's everyone doing? Can you believe we’re already in our 40th week of Kindergarten? With just one week to go, it’s hard to say goodbye to these wonderful children who have filled our LE Kindergarten world with joy, love, and good energy! This week was all about reminiscing while still learning together. Let’s take a fun look back!

Large Group:

We kicked off the week by diving into our sweet memories from past large group sessions. We reminisced about the topics we covered, the songs we sang, and the books we read. To our delight, our children recalled everything as if it were just yesterday! We even wrote down our favorite book titles and songs on the board, sharing turns. It’s heartwarming to see that these large group sessions are everyone’s favorite part of the day!

“I like Cordrouy book I want to take it again” -Umar

“I love my grandma and grandpa and I love the book I love you forever” -Abigael

“I like our graduation song I put my hands up in the air sometimes” -Junior

“And I love 3 little words” -Yeabsera

“I want to make a card for Phi and Arsema for teacher’s appreciation day” -Leayene

Literacy:

In our literacy session, we gathered on the mat to review our lessons. Our children were eager to share what they remembered. To spice things up, we created a word chain! Each child received three colorful pieces of paper to write their favorite words. Once completed, we linked them together to form a dazzling chain, making reading and writing a blast as they tried to read each other’s words.

“I don’t want a book to see words” -Lucas

“I know how to write book and boot so” -Yeabsera

“I want to write I love you” -Abigial

“I like my baby doll is a word?” -Junior

“Beep beep Beep” -Eliab

Math:

Math was an exhilarating experience this week! We embarked on a board game creation adventure. After discussing what a board game is, our children formed groups to brainstorm ideas and sketch their designs. With a box full of supplies—tissue rolls, tape, popsicles, crayons, and glue—they excitedly crafted their own games outside. The focus and creativity were incredible! After letting the games dry, we gathered for a fun-filled second math session where we played each other’s creations.

 “Ours have lava” -Hekima

“You see our game has a shark” -Junior

“This is the dying place, if you go here you’ll die” -Adelene

“Ours has bilharzia” -Leayene

“Look at the tornado at mine” -Lucas

Science:

In science, we also revisited our lessons, recalling everything from living vs. non-living things to vertebrates and invertebrates. For our second session, we became pancake chefs! Our children took turns pouring milk, oil, vanilla, and breaking eggs into the bowl. After whisking, they added flour and mixed it all together. Once the batter was ready, we cooked the pancakes, and after gymnastics, we gathered to enjoy our delicious creations, sharing giggles and smiles!

Art:

During our art session, we left our mark on a canvas with messages for KG 2025. Each child wrote heartfelt notes using brushes and white paint, which was a fun challenge for their handwriting skills. The canvas turned out beautifully, capturing the spirit of our time together!

“I want to write I love you Phi” -Adelene

Reflective Journals:

We wrapped up our literacy journal this week with a reflective question: “What have you learned so far this year?” We set up a cozy space for our children to recall their experiences and jot down memories. It was a perfect way to reflect on their growth and learning throughout the year.

“We learned so many things like so many” -Adelene

“The 7 continents and the 5 oceans and so many” -Lucas
