Dear parents,

We hope this blog finds you well! We’re excited to share what your little ones have been learning and enjoying in our class for the last two weeks.

Large Group

Our large group time started with lots of excitement! The children came in happily and sat on their pillows, ready to begin. We started by singing our Good Morning song, and the children loved waving their hands and saying good morning. After that, we did our attendance, and the children enjoyed taking their own pictures. Next, they chose Five Little Monkeys and Baa Baa Black Sheep, and we sang together. We also counted the numbers as a group. Then we talked about body parts, and the children were very excited to show and name each part. At the end of group time, each child received a big warm hug from the teddy bear.

Gymnastics

During our gymnastics class, we went outside and placed tape on the floor to make a walking line. We prepared a plate and a ball for the activity. First, we showed the children how to walk and keep their balance. Then the children took turns holding the plate with the ball on top and walked carefully along the line. They were very excited to try it, and each child waited patiently for their turn. It was a great way for each student to work on their balance, focus, and coordination.

Language and Literacy

During our literacy and language session, we worked on a water-filling activity, aimed to help students with their listening comprehension and vocabulary acquisition. We prepared empty water bottles, cups, and water for the children. After explaining the steps, the children began the activity and they did an amazing job! They carefully filled the water bottles, closed them when they were finished, and even helped their friends. The children were very excited and fully engaged. Because they were enjoying the activity so much, we added an extra five minutes. They didn’t want to stop or clean up!

Art

During our first week of art, the children started by painting the background together as a group. They worked as a team to cover the canvas and enjoyed helping each other. Once the background dried, we prepared different toy cars and paint. The children chose their favorite paint colors, placed the cars in the paint, and then rolled them across the canvas. They were very excited to see the colorful tracks and patterns the cars made. It was a fun and creative group activity!

For the second week, we prepared a canvas again along with different colors of paint and brushes. This time, the children used the brushes to splash and tap the paint onto the canvas. They took turns, worked patiently, and had so much fun exploring the colors. They also talked about the colors they were using and shared their ideas with each other.

Science

During our science activity, we started our gardening project. The children began by exploring the soil with their hands. They touched, scooped, and played with the soil, discovering its texture. In the middle of the activity, we added water, and the children explored even more. They were very excited to see how the soil changed and how it felt on their hands. They laughed, talked about the textures, and enjoyed the messy fun together.

Math

During our math class, we focused on a shape matching activity. We prepared chart paper with a circle, triangle, and square, and placed them on the table. Then we set out soft blocks for the children to use. The children came one by one to match the shapes, and they did an amazing job. They also helped each other and worked together beautifully. It was a great activity for recognizing shapes and practicing teamwork!
