Dear Parents,

We are excited to invite you to read our Preschool weekly highlights! This week was filled with joyful learning, creativity, exploration, and wonderful participation from all our students. Please take a few minutes to read about the amazing experiences your children enjoyed this week. We are so proud of their confidence, creativity, and active participation!

Large Group

During our large group session, we sat together in a big circle and talked about our morning. The students shared a little bit about their morning routines, taking turns to speak and listening to their friends. After that, we happily sang our cheerful Good Morning song to start the day with positive energy. We practiced our Zoo-phonics letters from A to Z and reviewed the sounds and motions. Then we read the story A Day at the Farm. The students listened attentively and truly enjoyed story time. We also discussed the weather, the days of the week, and took attendance together. After reading our weekly message board, we practiced tracing numbers 1 to 5 on our whiteboards. This activity helped strengthen their fine motor skills. It was a wonderful session! All the students were active, confident, and participated very well.

Small Group Activities

Science

In our science session, we explored and tasted different fruits and vegetables. We had carrots, broccoli, bananas, and strawberries. First, the students sorted the foods into two groups: fruits and vegetables. They did a great job identifying which one belongs where! After sorting, we talked about the colors of each food. The students noticed the orange carrot, green broccoli, yellow banana, and red strawberry. It was a wonderful discussion about healthy food and colors. Then came the most exciting part, tasting! The students tried steamed broccoli and carrots first, and then they enjoyed bananas and strawberries. Some students did not like the broccoli, and some were not sure about the carrots, but many of them really enjoyed the banana.

Rufta said, “Banana is sweet!”

Mohammed said, “Strawberry is sour!”

Andreas happily asked, “I need more banana!”

It was a joyful and engaging science experience where the students explored, tasted, and learned together. We had a wonderful time!

 Art

In our art session, we started by asking the students what they would like to draw and which paint colors they wanted to use. They were so excited to share their ideas! After that, we helped them put on their art smocks and provided their favorite paints and paper on the easel. The children were very active and happy while creating their artwork. Each student had a unique idea:

Mohammed said, “I draw a dump truck!”

Aldora said, “Look, black dress!”

Rufta said, “I draw a big house!”

It was wonderful to see their creativity and confidence grow as they expressed their ideas through painting. This art session was full of color, imagination, and joy!

Math

In our math session, we practiced counting different items such as counting bears, colorful brushes, and building blocks. The students were very excited to count their favorite materials. This activity helped the children develop one-to-one correspondence skills, as they carefully touched and counted each item one by one. The students enjoyed choosing their favorite items and counting by themselves, and they also practiced counting together with their teachers. It was a successful and engaging math session. The students were confident, focused, and happy while learning through hands-on activities. Well done, everyone!

Litracy

During literacy, we enjoyed a special journal session. We provided each student with their own journal book and crayons. The students were excited to choose their favorite crayons and begin drawing. Everyone had different ideas, and it was wonderful to see their creativity shine. This activity also helped develop their fine motor skills as they carefully held and used their crayons.

Haven said, “I draw a rainbow”.

Nivaan said, “I draw a dinosaur”.

Aldora said, “I draw a big tiger”.

It was a great time to see their imagination, creativity, and growing skills. We are so proud of their beautiful work!

Library

In our library session, we enjoyed a lovely reading time outside in the grass area. We sat together on a big mat and read a beautiful storybook. After our group reading, each student had the opportunity to choose their favorite book. The children were very excited to explore the books. They carefully turned the pages, looked at the colorful pictures, and shared what they saw with their friends. It was wonderful to see their interest and love for books growing. It was a calm and happy session, and the students explored the books very nicely. We are so proud of their curiosity and enthusiasm for reading!
