Dear parents,

We hope your week has been as joyful as ours! Our Early Pre-K class was buzzing with excitement and curiosity as the children engaged in a week filled with exploration, creativity, and learning. Through exploring math, art, science, and gymnastics, the students sparked their imagination and creativity, and built upon key skills such as cognitive development, number recognition, physical growth, and problem-solving. Read on to discover the highlights that made your child’s week so special!

Large Group

This week’s large group time was full of enthusiasm and discovery! We focused on the letter “c” , searching for it in words and its sound, enriching our vocabulary with lively “c” words. During morning message time, the children enjoyed sharing their weekend stories, making our routine even more meaningful.

In math, we introduced the number 4 and the 2D shape, square. The children had fun holding up four fingers and counting the sides of a square. These activities gave them the chance to practice critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. It was truly a week of growth, wonder, and joy!

Math

This week in our math session, the children had a wonderful time practicing their number skills! Together, we focused on identifying numbers from one to ten. Using colorful flashcards, the teacher introduced each number one by one, and the children eagerly responded by counting the objects shown on the cards.

As each flashcard was displayed, the children carefully counted the pictures and matched them with the correct number. This hands-on activity not only reinforced their ability to recognize numbers but also strengthened their one-to-one counting skills. It was exciting to see their enthusiasm as they proudly showed their understanding and celebrated their success.

Through this session, the children developed confidence in both number identification and counting—important skills that build the foundation for future math learning. We are so proud of their progress and can’t wait to continue exploring more math adventures together!

Science

In this week’s science session, our young explorers engaged in a wonderful sensing activity that allowed them to discover the world through their hands and feet. The children had the chance to feel a variety of textures and surfaces—from rough rocks to smooth tiled floors, from soft artificial grass to warm water and even chilly cold water.

As they moved from one texture to another, the children excitedly described what they felt, using words like hard, soft, warm, cold, rough, and smooth. This experience not only gave them the opportunity to explore using their sense of touch but also supported the development of their vocabulary and descriptive language.

We loved seeing their curiosity and excitement as they compared each new surface and shared their observations with friends. It was a truly sensory-rich learning experience!

Art

In this week's art session, the children enjoyed a creative and hands-on activity that combined both art and early math concepts. Using colorful popsicle sticks, they carefully created collages on A4 paper. The focus of the activity was to form a rectangle shape and the number “1.”

The children practiced using glue to stick the popsicle sticks in the correct positions, which not only helped them strengthen their fine motor skills but also encouraged patience and attention to detail. Through this process, they were able to explore geometric shapes and number recognition in a fun and engaging way.

This activity supported their creativity, hand–eye coordination, and understanding of basic shapes and numbers, all while boosting their confidence as young artists. We are so proud of their effort and enthusiasm in bringing their rectangles and number collages to life!

Library

During this week's library session, the children enjoyed a delightful storytime with their teacher as they read “The Old Steamed Train.” The story captured their curiosity and imagination, transporting them into the world of trains and exciting journeys.

As the teacher read aloud, the children followed along with great enthusiasm, listening carefully to the characters, events, and rhythm of the story. They engaged in discussions about what might happen next, shared their thoughts, and expressed their excitement about trains. This interactive reading not only encouraged their listening and comprehension skills but also strengthened their vocabulary and ability to connect ideas from the story to real-life experiences. It was a joyful and enriching session that helped the children develop a love for reading and storytelling while building their confidence in group discussions.
