Hello dear parents,

We hope you had a fantastic week! In our Early Preschool and Preschool class, we had an amazing time engaging in a variety of fun and educational activities. The children were filled with energy and enthusiasm, making each moment special. Please enjoy taking a look at our weekly highlights and enjoy the pictures that showcase all the wonderful moments we shared this week!

Art

In our art session, we embarked on a fun and creative journey to design our Yellow Book Canvas in a unique way. We started by discussing with the students how they could make their canvas more meaningful and personal. It was exciting to hear their ideas and approaches to transforming the canvas. Next, we asked the students to pick their favorite color for the background, and most of them chose green. We then dove into the painting process, using sponges to apply the green paint for a textured, dynamic effect. It was a lively and active day as the students painted the backgrounds on their own, showcasing their creativity and individuality. The session was filled with energy, and it was wonderful to see how the students embraced the activity, adding their own special touches to their canvases. Overall, it was a great day of learning, exploration, and artistic expression!

Math

This week in our math session, we had a wonderful time exploring numbers! We kicked off the session by singing a fun counting number song, which helped get everyone excited and engaged. After that, we used flashcards to count numbers and introduced the day’s activity. We had numbers 1 through 10 prepared, along with a variety of small animal toys like dinosaurs, spiders, sheep, and flies.

Each student picked their favorite number and then chose the corresponding number of animals to match the number on the flashcard. They took turns counting their animals aloud to their teachers and friends, and it was amazing to see their progress. Some students even counted all the way up to 10 on their own! It was such a rewarding and enjoyable experience to witness their growth. A fun, interactive, and educational time for everyone indeed!

Literacy

In our literacy session, we had a blast learning the Zoo phonics system, which helped students connect letters A-Z with their sounds and corresponding motions. Each letter came to life with fun movements, making it easier for everyone to remember the sounds. After exploring all the letters, the students were invited to choose their favorite letter. It was heartwarming to see most of them pick the first letter of their name! They proudly showcased their chosen letters, making the session even more engaging and personal. This fun and interactive way of learning helped reinforce letter-sound connections while allowing the students to feel connected to their own names. It was a memorable and exciting time for everyone involved!

Ethiopian center

This week at the Ethiopian Center, our students had a fantastic time exploring Ethiopian culture. They had the chance to discover and play traditional Ethiopian musical instruments, including the drum, krar, and masinko. It was a fun and interactive way for them to learn about the sounds and rhythms of Ethiopia.

Some students also enjoyed role-playing activities, pretending to go shopping, while others sat together, dressed in colorful clothes from different nationalities. They even participated in a traditional coffee ceremony, sipping coffee and having lively conversations. It was truly heartwarming to see them so engaged in these activities, learning while having fun. The Ethiopian Center was an exciting and enriching experience for our students, and they absolutely loved it!
