Hands-On Fun In The Infants Class
Dear Parents,
Over the past two weeks, we’ve had so much fun engaging in exciting and creative activities with our students! From hands-on learning to playful exploration, it’s been a joy to see their smiles and growth. Stay tuned for more updates and adventures ahead!
Large group
In our class, we typically start large group time by singing the 'Good Morning' song. Then, we will sing 'The Wheels on the Bus' and 'If You’re Happy and You Know It'. After singing, we take attendance, which is always an exciting moment. Each child takes their picture and sticks it on the attendance board. Once they finish, we give them a high five, which they love! After attendance, we read a book- recently it was a lovely story called “I love hugs”.
Cooperative Game
For our latest cooperative game, the children got busy with a vibrant and energetic “passing activity”. For this activity, we started by giving each child a cup and pouring water into it. Then, we began passing the water from one cup to another, and the children were very excited to follow their friends and take turns. Toward the end, we added another cup, and the kids started filling and dumping water, which they found thoroughly engaging. They worked together beautifully, demonstrated great teamwork and enjoyed every moment!
Gymnastics
In gymnastics class, we had a delightful activity where we showed the children different animal poses and had them mimic the poses back to us. We demonstrated how the animals move and the sounds they make. The children were very interested and eager to try. They did their best to imitate the poses, movements, and sounds, making the activity both enjoyable and engaging for everyone!
Making Bracelet
Another vibrant activity that the infants class worked on recently were their very own bracelet crafts! First, we placed the macaroni in the center and introduced it to the children. Then, each child received some macaroni and a pipe cleaner. They worked on threading the macaroni one by one to create beautiful bracelets. The children were very happy and fully engaged as they focused on adding each piece. This activity not only brought them joy but also helped strengthen their fine motor skills and concentration!
Science
For our science activity, we explored wit shaving cream! First, the children wore their artist smocks and sat down. We started by talking about shaving cream and how it feels. Then, each child received some shaving cream to explore on the table. They were excited and curious, touching, feeling, and playing with the cream while sitting and fully engaged in the activity. It was a fun and sensory-rich experience for everyone!
Art
We started by setting up the table, chairs, brushes, white paper, and glue outside. We introduced the materials to the children, showing them how to use the brush to apply glue and stick the macaroni onto the paper. The children were very engaged in the activity, carefully brushing glue onto their papers and placing the macaroni to create their designs. They showed great focus and enthusiasm throughout the session and were delighted with their creations.
Math
During our math session, the children enjoyed an engaging activity focused on matching shapes. We began by placing three basic shapes—square, circle, and triangle—on the floor. Alongside these, we provided a variety of materials in different shapes. The children were encouraged to pick up the materials one at a time and match them to the corresponding shapes.
The activity helped the children practice their observation and problem-solving skills, and they were very focused and enthusiastic as they worked on matching the shapes correctly. It was wonderful to see their growing confidence and understanding!
Clay
During our clay session, the children had an exciting opportunity to choose an animal to create with clay alongside Teacher Asnake. Most of the children chose to make ducks and turtles, working closely with Teacher Asnake to shape and mold their creations. They were very engaged throughout the activity, enjoying the process of creating animals with their hands.
It was a joy to see their focus, creativity, and enthusiasm as they explored and worked with the clay. The children absolutely loved this hands-on activity!
