Dear parents,

We hope you are all doing well. We have had a wonderful two weeks in our Infants and Toddlers class! The children are becoming increasingly comfortable in our school environment. They have been enjoying spending time with their friends and teachers while exploring fun and engaging learning activities. It has been lovely to see their smiles, excitement, and growing confidence each day.

Large Group

During our large group time, we started by singing our Good Morning Song. Then, we took attendance, and each child had a chance to find their picture and stick it underneath the happy face. After attendance, the children had the opportunity to choose their favorite songs. They chose “Wash Your Hands” and “Baa Baa Black Sheep”. The children enjoyed singing and participating together. At the end of our large group, we read “At the Park”. During story time, the children were very focused and engaged. They enjoyed repeating words and parts of the story along with the teacher.

Library

During our library session, the children had the opportunity to choose their favorite books independently. They looked through the pictures, turned the pages, and explored the books with interest. They also enjoyed sharing the books with their friends and talking about the pictures together. After reading, the children cleaned up the books and chose their favorite book to take home. Finally, we selected one book to read together as a group, which was a delightful moment for all!

Gymnastics

During our gymnastics session, we focused on jumping activities. We placed different colored musical dots on the floor and first demonstrated how to jump safely. Then, the children had a chance to jump one at a time. Some children jumped using both feet, while others preferred to walk from one dot to another before trying to jump. They really enjoyed exploring the activity and practicing their jumping skills. At the end, all the children jumped together using both feet. Everyone had a blast while developing their balance, coordination, and gross motor skills.

Literacy and Language Activity

During our literacy and language activity, we focused on fine motor skills using pom-poms, plates, cups, and spoons. First, we introduced the names of the materials to the children. Then, we demonstrated how to use the spoon to pick up a pom-pom from the plate and carefully place it into the cup. The children did a great job following the instructions and practicing their eye-hand coordination. Some children enjoyed the activity so much that, after finishing, they put the pom-poms back onto the plate and started the activity again!

Art

During our art session, we enjoyed a fun collage activity. First, we prepared and introduced the materials to the children and showed them how to do the activity. The children put glue on a piece of paper and then started sticking small, colorful pieces of paper onto it, one by one. The children were very happy and excited to create their own collages. They enjoyed choosing different colors and talking about the colors they were using. They also helped and supported each other during the activity, which we were glad to see.

During our second week art class, we worked on a dot painting activity using Q-tips. First, we prepared paints in different colors and gave each child the opportunity to choose their favorite color. The children then used Q-tips to make small dots on their paper. They were delighted to explore the paint and create their own artwork. This activity encouraged creativity while also developing their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

Science

During our science activity, we explored painting rice with different colors using food coloring. We prepared several colors and showed the children how to mix and color the rice. The children enjoyed painting and exploring the rice, watching it change into different beautiful colors. The children wore masks during the activity and were very excited and engaged as they explored the colorful rice. It was a fun, hands-on experience that allowed them to explore colors, textures, and creativity.

Math

During our math activity, we explored filling and dumping with colored rice. We prepared cups of different sizes and colors and gave the children the opportunity to explore them. The children practiced filling the cups with rice and then dumping it out. They enjoyed comparing the different cup sizes and colors while working together as a group. They were very happy, engaged, and excited throughout the activity.
