Dear Parents,

We are excited to share a glimpse into our wonderful week in Preschool! From joyful songs and creative activities to hands-on learning and meaningful conversations, our little learners had a fantastic time exploring and growing together. We warmly invite you to read our weekly highlights and celebrate these special moments with us. Your children’s enthusiasm and curiosity made this week truly memorable!

Large Group

During our large group session, we gathered in a big circle and began by sharing our morning routines and breakfast choices. The students were excited and eager to talk, showing great confidence as they spoke one by one. We then sang our cheerful Good Morning song, filling the room with smiles and positive energy. After that, we practiced our Zoo-phonics letters from A to Z, including their sounds and actions, and enjoyed singing the Zoo-phonics song together.

We continued with our daily routine by talking about the days of the week, the weather, and taking attendance. During message board time, we explored water animals such as fish, dolphin, crab, seahorse, shark, jellyfish, starfish, turtle, and snake. The students were very active and participated wonderfully throughout the session.

Small Group Sessions

Art

During our art session, we created our third canvas featuring colorful ice cream! This fun idea came from the students themselves, which made the activity even more exciting and meaningful. We began with a short discussion about ice cream. We talked about how it’s a tasty treat, but not something we should have all the time to stay healthy. The students then shared their favorite flavors and chose whether they prefer ice cream in a cup or a cone: most of them chose cones! We also explored shapes, especially circles, as part of our learning.

Next, we started our artwork. First, students painted the cone using brown paint. Then, they searched for circular objects around the classroom, such as wooden circles, bottle lids, and cups. We also provided circle sponges. One by one, students dipped their chosen items into their favorite paint colors and stamped them on top of the cone to create the ice cream. It was a joyful and creative experience! The students showed wonderful imagination and independence while making their unique designs.

Literacy

For this week’s literacy session, our students got a chance to work in their journals. First, we asked the students what they planned to draw, and they shared wonderful ideas like cars, houses, dump trucks, flowers, ice cream, and their mommy and daddy. After that, we provided each student with their journal and their favorite crayons. They were excited to start drawing and express their ideas creatively. Once they finished, we asked them if they remembered their original plan and encouraged them to talk about their drawings. It was a joyful and engaging time! All students showed great creativity and confidence in expressing themselves. This activity helped develop their fine motor skills, creativity, and communication skills.

Math

During our math session, we focused on counting using different items and flashcards. We began by counting numbers from 1 to 20 together as a group. Then, we introduced one-to-one correspondence, showing students how to match each number with the correct number of items. Students were given a variety of counting materials such as bears, blocks, animals, and counting fruits. They chose their favorite number and matched it with the correct number of items. Afterward, they practiced counting aloud for their teachers and friends. It was a wonderful learning experience! We were happy to see the students’ growing counting skills and confidence. They all did a great job and enjoyed the activity.

Library

In our library session, the students excitedly asked to read their favorite book, “The Things I Love About Playtime”, which we had already read last week. They were very familiar with the story and eagerly helped retell it, sharing what comes next with great confidence. After reading, we had a lovely discussion about playtime. The students took turns sharing the games they enjoy, expressing their ideas and thoughts while building their communication skills. They listened attentively and participated with great enthusiasm. To finish the session, the children explored the library by choosing their own favorite books. They enjoyed looking at the pictures and turning the pages independently. It was a joyful and engaging learning experience for everyone!
