A week of Creativity and Fun in Early Preschool and Preschool!

Dear Parents,

We hope your week has been wonderful! This week in Early Preschool and Preschool, we had an exciting time full of creativity. Our little ones worked on their second canvas art project and created some impressive clay masterpieces. We are so proud of their efforts and can't wait to share more of their adventures with you!

Happy Birthday Mukundi

Large group

This week’s large group sessions were filled with warmth and positivity. We started by sitting in a circle, where we sang our cheerful good morning song to set a happy tone for the day. Following that, we discussed the weather and the days of the week, helping everyone stay connected to the flow of time. Next, we took attendance, making sure everyone was present and ready for the day ahead. For our message board, we had a thoughtful discussion about our ongoing projects and the students' interests, which sparked a lot of excitement and ideas. It was a great session, filled with collaboration and creativity!

Math

This week in our math session, we started by counting numbers 1 to 10. The students did an excellent job mastering the sequence, showing great focus and enthusiasm! Afterward, we moved on to a matching activity where they matched numbers 1 to 10 with corresponding objects. It was wonderful to see everyone engage with the worksheet and complete it with confidence. Well done to all the students for their hard work and excellent progress!

Literacy

In our literacy session this week, we had a wonderful time with journaling! Each student grabbed their journal and favorite crayons and began drawing their favorite things. From unicorns and cars to houses and family members, it was amazing to see their creativity shine through. This activity gave us a glimpse into their imaginative minds, and it was a lovely moment to connect with their unique ideas and expressions. Such a fun and inspiring time for all!

Clay

This week, our clay session was a wonderful creative journey as we embarked on our second project. This time, our students decided to make a big mug, and the best part? They worked together, with guidance and support from our talented clay teacher, to bring their vision to life. Each student put in their effort, shaping, molding, and sharing ideas throughout the process. The collaborative spirit made the experience even more enjoyable, and the result was truly impressive. It was a fantastic time of learning, creating, and connecting! We can’t wait to see what our next session will bring.

Gymnastics

Our most recent gymnastics session started with a good stretch to warm up our bodies, followed by a light jog and run to get the blood flowing. Once we were all energized, we dove into the main event: a gross motor skills exercise! Each student picked their favorite ball, sat down, and held it between their legs. Together, we counted to 5 as they balanced and engaged their muscles. It was a fun and interactive way to work on coordination, strength, and balance. The children had a great time, and we look forward to more exciting activities ahead!

Art

In our recent art session, we had the opportunity to create something truly special—a yellow book on our second canvas. The idea was sparked by one of our students, who, when asked what they wanted to create, observed the many books around the classroom and shared, "I want to make a book because we have a lot of books, and I love reading”. We then asked, "Which book do you want to make?" and the student replied, "A yellow one”!

This simple yet thoughtful response led to a meaningful discussion about the importance of books in our development. Everyone agreed that creating a book together would be a wonderful project. We started making the book, imagining it as a flower, with grass and a beautiful design at the top. The book was placed in the center of the canvas, surrounded by different colored butterflies. Each student had the chance to contribute, adding their own creative touches with vibrant paints and unique ideas. It was an active and collaborative session filled with enthusiasm. The final piece turned out to be a beautiful display of teamwork and imagination, and the students were proud to see their shared vision come to life. It was a fantastic creative experience, and we can't wait for our next artistic adventure!
