Dear parents,

We hope this blog finds you well. Our Early Pre-K learners enjoyed another amazing week full of exploration, imagination, and progress! Each day brought exciting hands-on activities in math, art, and literacy, turning learning into a fun-filled adventure. These experiences supported their development in cognitive skills, number recognition, and vocabulary—all through playful discovery.

Large Group

This week’s large group sessions were packed with energy and learning! We highlighted the letter “o,” finding it in words around the classroom, practicing its sound, and learning new “o” words through fun activities. During our morning message, the children eagerly wrote numbers 10 through 20 on the board, helping to build both their number knowledge and fine motor skills. For math, we explored the number 17 with finger counting and interactive measurement exercises.

Math

This week’s math session centered around a delightful hands-on activity focusing on measurement. As part of our ongoing efforts to make learning fun and interactive, we incorporated blocks and rulers to help the children grasp the concept of measuring height.

The session began with a brief introduction to the concept of measurement and why it is important in our daily lives. The children were eager to participate and learn as they listened attentively to the explanation. We then introduced blocks and rulers as tools for measuring height, and each child was given a set to work with.

Through this hands-on activity, the children not only learned about measurement but also developed important skills such as teamwork, communication, and critical thinking. They were able to visualize and understand the concept of tall and short in a tangible way, making the learning experience more meaningful and memorable.

Music

We are excited to share with you the wonderful music session that took place this week in our class. Our children had a blast engaging in a hands-on practice of playing different musical instruments. The music session was designed to introduce our young learners to the world of music in a fun and interactive way. The children were given the opportunity to explore a variety of musical instruments, including drums, shakers, and xylophones. Each child had the chance to try their hand at playing these instruments, discovering the unique sounds and rhythms they could create.

As our little musicians experimented with the different instruments, they not only developed their auditory and motor skills but also learned the importance of teamwork and collaboration. Watching our students immerse themselves in the world of music was truly a heartwarming experience. From the enthusiastic drummers to xylophone players, each child brought their own flair and creativity to the session, showcasing their individual talents and passion for music!

Literacy

This week in literacy, the children had a hands-on experience that combined fun and learning as they practiced writing their names using Zoo Phonics letters. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to enhance their literacy skills in a creative and interactive way. The session began with introducing the Zoo Phonics letters, each representing a different animal. The children were captivated by the  wooden letters that resembled their favorite zoo animals. As they explored the letters, they learned the sounds and names associated with each one, making connections between letters and sounds.

Next, the children were tasked with spelling out their names using the Zoo Phonics letters. With guidance , they carefully selected the letters and arranged them in the correct order to form their names. It was a hands-on activity that not only strengthened their fine motor skills but also reinforced their knowledge of letter recognition and sequencing. As the children wrote their names, there was a sense of accomplishment and pride in their faces. They eagerly shared their creations with each other, celebrating their achievements and supporting their peers in their learning journey. It was heartwarming to see the sense of community and collaboration that emerged during the session.

Clay

In this week’s clay workshop, the children explored their creativity, discovering how versatile and fun working with clay can be. They transformed their ideas into a variety of imaginative creations, ranging from intricate sculptures to whimsical designs. We were amazed by their originality—some crafted tiny clay cars with remarkable precision, while others designed complex tracks with great care and detail. Each student put genuine effort into their project, and we couldn’t be more proud of the incredible artwork they created. More than just a hands-on activity, the workshop inspired artistic passion and nurtured creative expression in every young participant.
