Dear parents,

We are excited to share the highlights of our wonderful week with you! From joyful group discussions to creative art, hands-on science, and engaging literacy and math activities, our students explored, learned, and grew in many ways. We invite you to take a moment to read and celebrate these special learning experiences with us!

Large Group

Our large group session began with everyone gathering in a big circle, creating a warm and welcoming space. One by one, the children happily shared their morning routines, building confidence as they took turns speaking and listening to their friends. Next, the students chose whether they wanted to sing our cheerful Good Morning song sitting down or standing up, making the moment even more engaging and fun.

After singing, we settled down and reviewed our Zoo-Phonics letters, practicing each sound with actions and motions. We then talked about the day’s weather and the days of the week, helping the children connect with their daily routine. Following that, we took attendance, determining together who was present and who was not, encouraging awareness and a sense of belonging.

Finally, we explored our message board, which focused on water animals. The children excitedly shared their ideas, naming animals like fish, dolphin, crab, seahorse, starfish, shark, and whale. We also looked at pictures together, which made the discussion even more lively and interactive. It was a wonderful session filled with communication, listening, speaking, and turn-taking. This smooth and engaging large group time helped us start our day in a positive and joyful way for both students and teachers.

Small Group Sessions

Art

Our fourth art canvas was full of fun, color, and excitement! The students began by choosing their favorite paint colors, showing their creativity and independence. Using sponges, they carefully dipped into the paint and painted the soles of their shoes. One by one, each child stepped onto the canvas, leaving their unique shoe prints behind.

It was a wonderfully messy activity, but the students enjoyed every moment! They communicated happily with one another, proudly saying, “Look, these are my shoes!” as they admired their work. After the activity, we helped them clean up by washing their hands and shoes together.

Math

This week in our math session, we focused on counting and number recognition. We began by practicing with pictures, where students counted the items and circled the correct corresponding number. Every student had a chance to participate, building their confidence and skills. After the practice, we provided worksheets and markers for the students to complete independently. It was a wonderful time, and the students did very well. We also supported those who needed a little extra help. It was a great session filled with active learning and happy moments!

Library

During our library session, all students chose their favorite books and began exploring them with excitement. They carefully looked at the pictures and turned the pages one by one, enjoying every moment. The students communicated very well, especially when they saw familiar things in the pictures. When they came across something new, they confidently asked their teacher, “what is this?” showing curiosity and a love for learning. At the end of the session, each student selected their favorite book to take home.

Science

In our science session, we learned about different water animals such as fish, crab, octopus, jellyfish, starfish, and dolphins. The students were very excited to share their ideas as we discussed what fish eat and where they live. Everyone took turns speaking, showing great confidence and curiosity. After our discussion, we asked the students if they would like to create water animals on a canvas, and they all happily agreed. To make it more realistic, we introduced a textured art activity. The students started by ripping paper into s

mall pieces, then mixing it with water and glue using their hands to create a paper mixture. Next, we provided oil brushes and water animal toys. The students applied oil onto the canvas and then placed the paper mixture into the animal molds before pressing them onto the canvas.

Finally, we placed the artwork in a sunny area to dry. It was a very active and participatory learning experience. The students completed each step by themselves, showing independence and creativity. We hope the artwork will dry well by next week, and the oil will help us remove the shapes easily. It was a wonderful and productive session!

Literacy

In our literacy session, the students explored their name’s beginning sounds in a fun and creative way. They decorated their beginning sound letters using different materials such as colorful paper, sand, and various seeds. We also provided glue and glitter to make their letters shine and stand out. The students were very engaged and worked with great interest, showing excitement throughout the activity. It was a wonderful session where we saw many different creative ideas and skills come to life.
