Dear parents, here are highlights from our recent activities. Thank you for reading  blogs and for your continued support. Together, we can help our children learn, grow, and enjoy every experience.

Happy Birthday For Jember and Sumeya

Large Group

Our large group was amazing as always! We talked about different family members and shared ideas about the people who are special in our families. We also read a lovely book related to family called You Are a Big Sister. Our children enjoyed listening to the story and joining the discussion.

We were also happy to see their development during our daily routines. They are becoming more confident in identifying the weather, naming the days of the week, and recognizing different colors. It was wonderful to see our children participating, answering questions, and showing their growing communication skills.

Small Group

Monday- Gymnastics

Our gymnastics activities help our children develop their gross and fine motor skills, balance, coordination, focus, body awareness, and confidence. We have been working on different activities that encourage our children to move their bodies, follow directions, try new challenges, and practice important physical skills.

This week, our children enjoyed an activity where they followed a line while holding a ball. They carefully walked along the line while trying to keep the ball securely in their hands and maintain their balance. The children had to pay close attention to where they were stepping and adjust their movements as they followed the path. Some children found it challenging at first, especially when they needed to slow down or keep the ball steady, but they continued to try and became more comfortable with practice.

As they participated, the children demonstrated perseverance and encouraged one another. They learned that it was okay to make mistakes and try again. Some children experimented with walking slowly, taking smaller steps, or holding the ball in different ways to help them stay balanced. This activity helped them improve their body control, coordination, concentration, spatial awareness, and confidence while having fun and staying active. It also encouraged them to listen carefully, follow a sequence of movements, and feel proud of their efforts as they completed the activity.

Tuesday- Literacy

In literacy, our class enjoyed a fun and engaging copying activity using cups and blocks. We first showed them a simple pattern made with the cups and colorful blocks, and the children were encouraged to look carefully at the arrangement and copy what they saw.

Our children did an amazing job observing the example and creating their own matching arrangements. We gave them the opportunity to complete the activity independently, without doing it for them. They carefully looked at the position of each block and cup, made their own choices, and tried to place the materials in the correct way.

This activity helped our children develop their concentration, visual observation, memory, problem-solving, and fine motor skills. It was wonderful to see them stay focused, try again when needed, and feel proud of themselves when they completed the pattern. The activity also encouraged independence and confidence as our children learned through hands-on exploration.

Thursday- Science – Mixing Colors with Macaroni

During our science session, we explored mixing red food color with macaroni. We took the activity outside to the grass area, where the children worked in pairs and had plenty of space to explore. Each pair was given macaroni and red food color to mix together and observe what happened.

The children were very engaged and curious throughout the activity. They enjoyed touching, mixing, and watching the macaroni slowly change color. Mathelida carefully picked up one piece of macaroni, looked at it closely, and said, “It’s not red yet!” We added more food color and mixed it again. She continued observing the change and noticed when the macaroni became more red.

The children practiced observation, communication, cooperation, and fine motor skills as they worked together. They also learned that adding more food color could make the macaroni become darker and more noticeable. It was a fun hands-on experience that gave our children the opportunity to explore cause and effect while learning through play.

Work Time

Tuesday -Art

Our children enjoyed a creative and hands-on art activity that involved painting with yarn! We used red paint and yarn to give our children a new way to explore painting and create different marks on paper. Each child had the opportunity to hold the yarn, move it, and explore how it could be used in different ways.

Our children also showed their creativity and imagination while exploring the yarn.  Jember was curious about the length of the yarn and used it to measure around his waist. This showed how he was making connections between the material and his own body. Sumeya looked at the yarn and said, “Snake!” She then moved and placed the yarn like a snake, using her imagination to give meaning to the material.

It was wonderful to see how each child explored the activity in their own way. They were able to make choices, share their ideas, and experiment freely while enjoying the painting process. This activity supported their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, imagination, language development, and self-expression. Most importantly, our children enjoyed learning through open-ended exploration and proudly created their own unique artwork.

Thursday – Library

Our library session was wonderful this week! We spent our library time in the Zen Den, which gave our children the chance to explore a different area. They were very excited when they arrived and enjoyed looking around the new space.

We explored different books together and gave the children time to choose books that interested them. They enjoyed turning the pages, looking closely at the books, and listening to the stories. Some children sat together and read the books with their friends, sharing the books and talking about what they saw.

The children were happy and engaged throughout the session. They enjoyed spending quiet time with books while also learning how to share, take turns, and enjoy reading together. It was lovely to see their excitement and growing interest in books.
