Dear Parents,
As we wrap up our final blog of the year, we want to take a moment to say thank you for an amazing journey! The past two weeks have been filled with joy, learning, and memorable moments. This week, we are celebrating Spirit Week, and the excitement has definitely been in the air! The children have been full of energy and enthusiasm as they take part in all the fun activities. Their smiles and laughter have made this a truly special time for all of us.
It has been a wonderful experience watching each child grow, explore, and shine. We are so proud of all they have accomplished, and we feel incredibly grateful to have shared this time with them. Thank you again for your support throughout the year. We wish you all a joyful and restful break!
Large group
Over the past two weeks, we’ve been enjoying our large group time together each morning, and it has become a favorite part of the day! We begin by singing our cheerful “Good Morning” song. The children wave their hands with big smiles as they greet each friend and teacher by name, saying “Good morning!” with excitement and joy. After that, we sing the “Welcome the Bus and Pick-Up” song, which helps us transition into our day smoothly. Next, we move into attendance time, where each child independently finds and sticks their picture on the board—a moment of pride and ownership for them. Once everyone is present, we open our stand-up song, “I Like to Move It,” and the energy really takes off! All the children stand, dance, and follow the directions in the song with so much enthusiasm. It’s a wonderful way to start the day full of movement, laughter, and connection.
Pajama Day
Pajama Day was a fun and cozy experience where everyone came dressed in his or her favorite pajamas, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere. We took joyful group pictures to capture the special moments, and during our large group time, we enjoyed reading a bedtime story together, which encouraged listening and imagination. We also sang songs related to nighttime and sleep, adding a musical and engaging touch to the day. It was a memorable event that promoted comfort, creativity, and a strong sense of togetherness among the children.
Professions Day
Professions Day was an amazing and inspiring event where most of the children came dressed in a variety of professional outfits, representing different careers such as doctors, teachers, chefs, police officers, and more. It was a joyful and engaging experience that sparked curiosity and imagination, as the children proudly shared whom they were dressed as and discussed with teachers. The day encouraged self-expression, built confidence, and gave the children a fun opportunity to explore future aspirations in a playful and meaningful way.
Gymnastic
During gymnastics class, the children had a fantastic time as we explored rolling activities on the mattress! Before we began, we started with some gentle stretching exercises to warm up our bodies and get ready for movement. Then, we explained the rolling activity step by step, encouraging the children to take turns and go one at a time. They listened carefully and followed the instructions with great enthusiasm. When it was their turn, each child rolled on the mattress with big smiles and laughter. They were very excited and proud of themselves, and it was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they practiced this new movement skill.
Literacy and Language
During our literacy and language sessions, we focused on building thinking and communication skills through a fun puzzle activity. First, we placed a variety of puzzles in the middle of our circle, including animals, transportation, fruits, and dinosaurs. The children were very curious and excited to see the different types. We began by explaining the activity, showing them how to look at the pieces and match them to complete the picture. Then, we invited each child to choose the puzzle they wanted to work on. One by one, they picked their favorite and started fixing the pieces with focus and joy. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to use language to express their choices and strengthen their problem-solving skills at the same time.
Science
During our science session, we had an exciting hands-on experiment that the children absolutely loved! We worked together in a group to explore the fun and messy world of cornstarch and water. First, the children helped to spread the cornstarch powder into a tub, feeling the soft texture with their hands. They were very curious as they explored the dry cornstarch on its own. Then came the exciting part—we slowly added water and mixed it all together. The children were amazed to see how the mixture started to change! As they touched and pressed the mixture, they discovered that it could feel both solid and liquid at the same time. Their faces lit up with excitement, and they were full of smiles and laughter. It was a wonderful moment of scientific discovery, where the children could feel, observe, and learn through playful exploration.
Art
During art class, we enjoyed a fun and sensory-rich ice exploration activity! We prepared colored ice cubes in different shades, and the children were so excited to see them. Each child started by choosing their favorite color, then used the ice cubes to draw and paint on paper. As the ice melted, it left behind beautiful trails of color, and the children were fascinated by how the colors blended and moved on the paper. This activity was a great way for them to explore temperature, color mixing, and creativity—all while having fun!
