Dear Parents,

We’re excited to share with you the wonderful moments and learning experiences your children have been part of recently here in the toddlers class. From creative art sessions and energetic music activities to hands-on math games and imaginative literacy tasks, each day has been filled with joy, discovery, and growth.

It’s always a pleasure to watch our students explore, play, and learn with curiosity and enthusiasm. We hope this blog gives you a little window into their world at school and keeps you connected to their journey. Thank you for your continued support and partnership!

Large Group

We began our large group time by warmly greeting each child as they joined the circle, helping them feel welcomed and ready to start the day. We engaged in a lively discussion about the day's weather, encouraging the children to observe and describe what they saw outside. This opened up a wonderful opportunity for them to build their vocabulary and practice communication skills.

Next, we asked the children about some of their favorite things—such as their favorite foods, colors, and shapes. The responses were fun and varied, sparking excitement and laughter among the group. These types of conversations help strengthen social connections and allow each child to express their unique preferences and interests.

After our discussion, we transitioned into singing our cheerful “Good Morning” song. The children enthusiastically joined in with clapping and singing, which helped create a joyful and energetic atmosphere to start the day. Following the song, we took attendance, allowing the children to proudly respond when their names were called and stick their picture.

To conclude our large group time, we read a delightful book titled “Baby Shark”. This story is a classroom favorite, and many of the children were already familiar with the catchy tune and engaging characters. They listened attentively, sang along at parts, and interacted with the story through hand motions and smiles. Story time is always a special moment for us to promote literacy, imagination, and a love for books.

Art: Exploring the Triangle Shape

In our recent art session, we continued our exploration of shapes by focusing on triangles. As part of our preparation, we gathered all necessary materials, including paper, glue, seeds, brushes, and art smocks. Before beginning the activity, we helped the children put on their art smocks to keep their clothes clean.

To reinforce their understanding, we started by reviewing the different shapes we had previously learned. Then, we introduced the triangle shape and asked the children to identify it. Each child was provided with a paper that had a triangle outline drawn on it.

We handed out brushes and guided the children to apply glue along the lines of the triangle. Most of them successfully placed the glue on the correct lines. After that, they carefully placed seeds over the glue, creating a beautiful textured triangle. This hands-on activity helped them strengthen their shape recognition skills, develop fine motor coordination, and express their creativity.

Library: A Joyful Reading Experience

Most of our students truly enjoy spending time with books, and our recent library session was a wonderful example of that. We had an engaging and joyful time with the children, filled with curiosity and excitement.

During the session, we read different books aloud, capturing their attention and imagination. The children also had the opportunity to explore books on their own and read together with their friends. They happily shared stories, discussed pictures, and even helped each other choose which books to read. It was heartwarming to see their growing love for reading and their ability to collaborate and share.

Music: Joyful Movement

Our recent music session was a lively and energetic experience filled with fun, excitement, and lots of movement. The children were fully engaged and participated enthusiastically from beginning to end.

To make the session more interactive, we gave each child the opportunity to choose a song. Most of them chose fun and upbeat dance songs, which led to a session filled with laughter, singing, and dancing. The room was full of energy as the children moved freely to the rhythm, showing off their favorite dance moves and enjoying the music with their friends.

This activity not only brought joy and excitement but also helped support their physical development, coordination, and self-expression. It was heartwarming to see their confidence grow as they led their favorite songs and encouraged others to join in. Our music session truly created a positive and memorable moment for everyone involved.

Literacy: Creative Expression Through Journaling

In our recent literacy session, we focused on journaling as a way to encourage creativity, communication, and early writing skills. Each child was given a sheet of paper and crayons, and they were invited to draw whatever came to their mind. This open-ended activity allowed them to freely express their thoughts, experiences, and imagination.

After finishing their drawings, we sat together in small groups and discussed their artwork. The children shared stories about what they drew, and we asked questions to help them expand their ideas and vocabulary. It was a joyful and often surprising experience to hear the imaginative stories behind their pictures — from superhero adventures and family moments to animals, rainbows, and even made-up worlds!

This activity not only supported their language development but also encouraged them to think critically and confidently express their ideas. It was a fun and meaningful way to connect literacy with creativity, and we were truly amazed by their originality and storytelling skills.

Gymnastics Session: Strength, Coordination, and Fun

In our gymnastics session, we revisited a fun and engaging activity focused on developing body coordination and motor skills. The main exercise involved transferring a ball from one hula hoop to another, encouraging both focus and movement control.

We began the session with some light warm-up exercises to prepare the children’s bodies and get them energized. After warming up, we introduced the main activity. Each child lay down on their back, and we placed two hula hoops — one near their head and one near their feet.

The goal was for the child to pick up the ball using their hands from the hoop near their head and then stretch and place it into the hoop near their feet. This activity helped improve their core strength, flexibility, and spatial awareness while keeping the session playful and exciting. The children enjoyed the challenge and had lots of fun working on this simple but effective movement exercise.
