Dear parents

We’re excited to share a glimpse of what your little ones have been learning and enjoying this week! Take a moment to see the fun, growth, and discoveries happening in our classroom.

Large Group

During large group time, we began by singing our “Good Morning” song to welcome everyone and set a positive tone for the day. After that, the children had the opportunity to choose songs they wanted to sing. They enthusiastically selected “Baa Baa Black Sheep” and “The Wheels on the Bus”, and we all sang together with joy and participation. Next, we moved on to our attendance routine. Each child independently found and stuck their own picture on the attendance chart, demonstrating growing confidence and responsibility. After attendance, we read a story together, creating a calm and focused atmosphere. We then transitioned into a movement activity by playing “I Like to Move It”, a class favorite. The children stood up, danced, and moved their bodies with energy and excitement, ending our large group time with lots of smiles and laughter.

Music

During our recent music session, we began by singing some of our calm “sitting down songs”, which are focused on singing rather than singing and dancing. After that, we invited the children to choose a song they wanted to sing, giving them agency and the opportunity to take part in shaping the activity. Once we finished singing, we placed a variety of musical instruments in the center of our circle. Each child was then given the chance to choose their favorite instrument. After selecting their instruments, the children also picked a favorite song to go along with their exploration. As the chosen music played, the children began to explore their instruments with curiosity and enthusiasm. They experimented with sounds, rhythms, and movements, fully engaging in the musical experience. It was a joyful time that encouraged creativity and self-expression!

Literacy and Language

During literacy and language activity, our students engaged in a drawing experience designed to support their communication and vocabulary development. We provided a variety of colorful papers and crayons, allowing the children to choose freely and express their creativity through drawing. After completing their artwork, each child had the opportunity to share their drawing with their friends and teachers.

They described what they created, using their own words to explain the details. This sharing time encouraged the children to speak confidently and helped them expand their vocabulary. The children were highly engaged throughout the activity. They enjoyed both the creative process and the chance to talk about their work.

Science

During our latest science session, we explored different textures through a fun and sensory-rich activity. We prepared a variety of materials with distinct textures, such as soft, bumpy, hard, and smooth. At first, the children explored the textures using their hands, feeling the differences and describing what they noticed. Then, they took off their socks and continued the exploration with their feet. This added a new layer of sensory experience, allowing them to fully engage with the materials in a playful and curious way. The children were excited and actively participated in the activity. It helped them build their sensory awareness and vocabulary by using descriptive words to express how each texture felt. The activity sparked curiosity and conversations, making it a meaningful and enjoyable learning experience.

Art

Over the past two weeks, our art classes have been filled with excitement, creativity, and hands-on learning.

In the first week, we explored explosive painting. The children used paint brushes to create colorful splashes on a large white wall. They were fully engaged in the process, using big movements and showing joy as they watched the paint explode and spread across the surface. It was a fun and energetic experience that encouraged creative expression.

In the second week, we introduced a collage activity using colorful rice. The children began by applying glue to a white paper, then carefully sprinkled the vibrant rice over it to create their own designs. They were very focused and excited throughout the activity, enjoying the sensory experience and the colorful results of their work. Both sessions supported fine motor development, creativity, and artistic expression, while also sparking joy and curiosity in every child.

Gymnastics

During our gymnastics session, we focused on stretching activities to help support both fine and gross motor skill development. The teachers first demonstrated the stretching movements, and the children carefully observed before enthusiastically repeating the actions. They stretched their bodies well, showing great excitement and engagement throughout the session. The children listened attentively and followed directions with focus, demonstrating growing body awareness and control. This activity not only supported their physical development but also encouraged active participation and joy in movement.
