A Week of Fun and Learning : Highlights from Our Active and Happy Week!

Dear Parents,

It’s been a wonderful, educational and lively week with the Early Preschool and Preschool class! We hope your week was just as great. Below are the exciting activities we enjoyed together—thank you for being part of this great journey with us! Enjoy reading about all the fun moments we shared this week.

Large group:

In our latest large group session, we gathered in a circle to start the day by discussing our morning and singing our cheerful "Good Morning" song. We also talked about the weather and the days of the week, making sure everyone was involved and excited to start the day. Afterwards, we took attendance for our message board and prepared for an exciting counting and matching activity. Each student had the opportunity to match pictures with the correct numbers, allowing them to practice their counting skills in a fun and interactive way. It was a wonderful session filled with learning, laughter, and lots of participation from everyone.

Small group:

Clay

In our clay session, the children had a fantastic time exploring their creativity. Using soft, malleable clay, they created all sorts of fun shapes and objects, from cars to pizzas and airplanes. The activity was a wonderful way for the class to engage their imagination while improving their fine motor skills. The best part? They were completely focused and immersed in the process, with each child putting their own unique touch on their creations. It was truly an exciting and productive session.

Journal

In our latest literacy session, we had a wonderful time combining writing, drawing, and creativity. Each student brought out their journal books and their favorite crayons, ready to express themselves. Naod, for instance, drew a picture of his mom’s car, while Mukundi created a detailed drawing of his house. Joshua, on the other hand, had fun with shapes, drawing both a big and a small circle. This session was not only about literacy but also about letting the students explore their imagination and develop a love for both writing and art. It's amazing to see how much their creativity shines through their drawings, making the learning experience both engaging and enjoyable.

Math

In our latest math session, we had a delightful time with counting and matching! The students worked on a worksheet where they had to count the pictures and then circle the correct number. It was a fun and interactive activity that helped them practice number recognition and counting skills. The children did an excellent job, focusing on the task and completing the activity with great enthusiasm. It was so rewarding to see them apply their knowledge and enjoy the learning process at the same time.

Library

In our recent library session, we gathered in a circle and read a delightful book called “Biscuit Loves the Library”. The children were so attentive, listening carefully to the story and excitedly explaining the pictures they saw. It was heartwarming to see how engaged they were as they connected with the story. Afterward, each child had the opportunity to choose a book to take home, further encouraging their love for reading. It was a truly enjoyable time, filled with curiosity and excitement!

Gymnastics

In our latest gymnastics session, we started by warming up our bodies with some stretching exercises to prepare for the activities ahead. This week, we made gymnastics even more fun by adding a twist to our game! We covered the students' eyes with a tiny cloth, then hid some balls around the area. The challenge was for the children to find the balls using only their knees and hands. It was a fantastic activity that not only got them moving but also helped improve their coordination. The children had a blast, and their excitement when they found the balls was priceless! It was a wonderful session filled with laughter and teamwork.
