Dear parents,

We hope this blog finds you well! This week, our students enjoyed a variety of fun and engaging activities in literacy, art, gymnastics, science, and math. Through stories, movement, songs, and hands-on learning, the children explored, created, and developed new skills while learning happily together!

Large group

Our recent large group sessions have been filled with excitement, communication and bonding! We started by greeting everyone and asking about their morning and what they did before coming to school. After that, we discussed the day of the week, and one student was chosen to move the happy face to the correct day on the daily chart.

Next, we talked about the weather and discussed whether it was sunny or rainy, then matched the weather with the correct picture. Afterward, we sang a hello song together, which the children enjoyed very much.

We also discussed who was missing from our circle time. The children carefully looked around, checked for their friends, and named the classmates who were absent. Then, we counted the children present and practiced counting numbers together.

Afterward, we read a book called Farm, which our students loved especially due to our focus throughout the year on animals. The children were very excited and highly engaged during the story time. They listened carefully, participated actively, and showed great interest throughout the activity.

Gymnastics

This week’s gymnastics activity was completed outdoors, filled with buzzing energy and surrounded by sunshine and fresh air. We started with warm-up exercises to prepare their bodies for movement activities. Afterward, we set up a balance beam, two basketballs, and a basket for the children to practice different physical skills.

The children first walked carefully on the balance beam, then practiced dribbling the basketball and putting it into the basket. The balance beam activity was easier for them because they have practiced it many times before. They were able to balance their bodies well and walked carefully with confidence.

Dribbling the basketball was more challenging for the children, but they showed great effort and determination. They tried their best to control the ball while moving, and afterward they also practiced throwing the ball into the basket. The children were highly engaged, excited, and motivated throughout the activity.

This activity was very important because it helped develop the children’s gross motor skills, balance, coordination, concentration, and body control. Dribbling and throwing the ball also supported hand-eye coordination and strengthened their physical confidence. In addition, the activity encouraged persistence, active participation, and problem-solving as the children practiced new and challenging skills.

Literacy

During our literacy session, the children continued practicing directions by placing animals in the correct positions. Since some students were struggling during the previous activity, we repeated the experience this week to strengthen their understanding. This time, we conducted the activity outside the classroom, which made the session more exciting and engaging for the children. We placed a large paper on the table, and the children were asked to follow directions by putting the animals in the correct places.

The children were highly engaged and focused throughout the activity. Everyone participated actively and showed great interest in following the instructions carefully. Compared to last time, the children demonstrated much better understanding of directional concepts, and many students who previously struggled were able to complete the task successfully. Repeating the activity helped build their confidence and improved their listening and comprehension skills.

This activity was important because it supported the children’s literacy development by helping them understand and follow directions, improve their vocabulary, and strengthen their listening skills. It also encouraged concentration, critical thinking, and problem-solving while making learning fun and interactive. Conducting the activity outdoors created a positive learning environment where the children felt motivated and excited to participate.

Art

During our art session, the children continued exploring animals after completing their latest canvas activity. First, the children were given different animal figures, and they were excited to name and identify each animal. This helped develop their vocabulary and recognition skills while making the activity enjoyable and interactive.

Afterward, the children wore art smocks and were provided with different paint colors. They had the opportunity to choose their favorite paint colors independently, which encouraged creativity and decision-making. The children then dipped the animals’ feet into the paint and stamped them onto the paper to create animal footprints and patterns. They were very excited and fully engaged throughout the activity.

This activity was important because it supported the children’s creativity, fine motor development, and sensory exploration. It also encouraged self-expression, imagination, and active participation. The children enjoyed experimenting with colors and textures while strengthening their hand coordination and confidence in art activities.

Science

During our science activity, the children participated in an exciting outdoor animal search activity outside the classroom. Different animal figures were hidden around the class area, and the children were encouraged to look carefully and find them. The children were very excited and actively engaged throughout the activity as they moved around, explored the environment, and searched for the hidden animals.

The activity encouraged the children to use their whole bodies as they walked, bent, reached, and explored different places. They were touching and observing the materials closely while trying to identify and find the animals. The children showed curiosity, teamwork, and enthusiasm during the entire experience, and they enjoyed discovering the hidden animals together.
