Our Kindergarten This Week!!!
Hello Dear Parents,
How was your week? Our week was a week filled with learning new things, sharing, caring for each other, laughter as well as learning and respecting each other.
Large group
For our large group session, we started by singing the good morning song. Gray was our color for this week as well as cone was our shape for the whole week. We have been discussing our Art, Clay and maker space and how we are going to be able to use recycled materials to create the things that they want to, we have been also discussing compost and recycled materials and we were really amazed by their ideas. They all had an idea to share. Participating in the circle time Calendar activity helped us increase our time management skills, and sharing our days allowed us to connect with one another. We had also started reading a book called “I spy with my little eye.” and it is such an amazing book that they have already started to eagerly wait for the next page.

Literacy
For our literacy session we have discussed blending words, which has been now 2 weeks since we have started, and the kids are also enjoying reading by using the consonant blends. While on the other hand the other half kids were doing vowel letters, and this week for the vowel letters we let them write their name and circle out the vowel in their names how many vowel their name got and also we discussed sometimes we might have 1 vowel letter or more than one and they were happy and engaged while doing the activity. It was an activity full of excitement and questions.
Science
Our science activity this week has been discussion about how long a compost material take to dry and how we shall dry it and for what purpose we will be using the materials that we have been collecting for the past 2 weeks and they were asking a lot of questions as well as participating in the process by taking out all the compost materials from the green trash basket.
- “ Is the black banana peels ” Frankie
- “I bring more mango peels for compost.” Andre
- “ Where is apple peel?” Haon
