Learning Through Play and Exploration!
Large Group
We started our day by singing our Good Morning song and warmly greeting one another. We then talked about the weather and looked outside to see whether it was sunny, rainy , cloudy and windy. We also discussed the day of the week and shared what our children had eaten for breakfast. Everyone had an opportunity to share their ideas and listen to their friends. Afterwards, we sang our weather song and counted the pictures together, practising our counting skills. We continued by reading a book about What Do We Have in Our House? As we explored the book, we discussed the different areas of a house, such as the kitchen, bedroom, living room, and bathroom. Our children shared their ideas and talked about the things they see and use in different parts of their homes. This encouraged language development, observation, and connections between the book and their everyday experiences.
Small group
Music
Our math activity focused on counting different materials, including rocks, markers, and toy flowers. Our children explored the materials, picked them up, and counted them one by one. They practised matching number words to objects and began noticing the differences between quantities. Using familiar and interesting materials made counting more hands-on and enjoyable while supporting early mathematical thinking.
Literacy
Our literacy activity focused on making bracelets using macaroni. Our children selected the macaroni pieces and carefully threaded them to create their own bracelets. As they worked, they practised hand-eye coordination, concentration, and fine motor skills. They also made choices about their creations and explored patterns as they placed the macaroni pieces together. This hands-on activity supported creativity while strengthening the small muscles in their hands and fingers.

Work Time
Art
Our children enjoyed a fun and creative art activity using hand stamping. Each child chose their favorite color and dipped their hands into the paint to make colorful handprints on paper. They explored different colors, textures, and patterns while expressing their creativity in their own unique ways. This activity supported their fine motor skills, sensory exploration, and color recognition while allowing them to make their own artistic choices.
Library
During our library time, our children enjoyed exploring and reading different books. They looked through the pages, observed the illustrations, and listened to stories while developing an interest in books and reading. Each child also had the opportunity to choose a book to take home and share with their family. This experience encouraged independence, decision-making, and a love of reading both at school and at home.
